The Most Disliked Episode of ENT, Final Round: 2021 Edition...

Just realized "Terra Nova", "Precious Cargo", and "These Are The Voyages" are the three previous winners of this game. And here they all are at the end of this one! Love it.

They're all bad. But TATV is only bad because it was the series finale. With some revamping, it would have been a decent bit of fan service.

And besides, it had Jeffrey Combs in it.

TERRA NOVA" - 3
"PRECIOUS CARGO" - 1
"THESE ARE THE VOYAGES..." - 1
"STORM FRONT" - 1

I'll give a point to "Precious Cargo." Yes, it's an awful simulation of a wacky 40s screwball comedy. But there's that scene where T'Pol is doing an impression of the Vulcan Inquisition, all swathed in her robes, and Archer is bowing and scraping to her, all to scare the bejeebus out of that weaselly alien. That scene had me on the floor.
- I love it! "Precious Cargo" is one of my most watched Enterprise episodes, and it never fails to amuse and entertain me (easily pleased, perhaps).
So, it's getting my vote again:

TERRA NOVA" - 3
"PRECIOUS CARGO" - 2
"THESE ARE THE VOYAGES..." - 1
"STORM FRONT" - 1

Giving a point to Precious Cargo. Honestly, this episode isn't good, but I don't believe it's as bad as it's made out to be. I've heard the claim of bad acting from Princess Vespa, but what I see is a 1 dimensional character(which admittedly is still not good, but a reflection on the writing, not the acting) and Florida Man exploring the galaxy through a series of misfortunes. Anything centered around Trip, I can get down on.

TERRA NOVA" - 3
"PRECIOUS CARGO" - 3
"THESE ARE THE VOYAGES..." - 1
"STORM FRONT" - 1

I vote for "Terra Nova", because Erick Avari is always a fun guest star. So "Terra Nova" is saved!

New round! ... I vote for "Storm Front", because I've seen "Precious Cargo" recently and it was excruciating, and, well, the only other alternative is "These Are The Voyages..."

"PRECIOUS CARGO" - 0
"THESE ARE THE VOYAGES..." - 0
"STORM FRONT" - 1

My vote this round goes to "STORM FRONT".

I HATED the Temporal Cold War, but my only alternatives are far worse episodes. Plus, at least this episode was part one of the END of the Temporal Cold War. It gets elevated minutely only because of that fact.

"PRECIOUS CARGO" - 0
"THESE ARE THE VOYAGES..." - 0
"STORM FRONT" - 2

TATV, previous reasons.

PRECIOUS CARGO" - 0
"THESE ARE THE VOYAGES..." - 1
"STORM FRONT" - 2

I'll also vote for Storm Front this time. It's a mess of a story and tries to conclude something that was never fleshed out properly in the first place. The action isn't too bad though, to be fair.

PRECIOUS CARGO" - 0
"THESE ARE THE VOYAGES..." - 1
"STORM FRONT" - 3

I will vote for "Storm Front" again and save it.

I'll give my final point to "Precious Cargo." During original air, this is literally the episode that killed my Trek fandom -- I had started to skip episodes here and there starting in season 5 of Voyager, but "Precious Cargo" was the episode that got me to actively commit to NOT watching anything further.

Honestly, Enterprise-era Connor Trineer remains to this day one of the hottest men I've ever seen. At the end of "Cargo", when he was wrestling in wet underwear, I was like "oh my god, I'm still bored!" I knew then that if even Connor Trineer wrestling in wet underwear could not pique my interest, I had fully turned on the show..

But looking back, as a hardcore Top Chef fan, I do at least have some interest in the Padma guest spot.

"Precious Cargo" may have been the episode that got me to abandon my Trek fandom, but TATV was the episode that confirmed I had made the right choice, when I came back to check out the finale and could not have been more appalled by it.

My final vote for the game goes to "PRECIOUS CARGO". I feel this episode is actually worse than the other one remaining, but at least it was ABOUT characters of THIS series.

Plus, I can never get over how THIS was the last new STAR TREK episode we got to see until DISCOVERY started. 'Valentine to the fans', my ass.

"PRECIOUS CARGO" - 2
"THESE ARE THE VOYAGES..." - 0

(Despite the other bad options in this Finals game, I was so confident this was going to be the end result that I created this post while we were still on season 4.)

These Are The Voyages deserves to hold onto its crown. It's just terrible as a series finale for ENT.

If TATV is supposed to be a valentine, I'd hate to see what they do for people they don't like.

I think I have to agree – "Precious Cargo" might be a bad episode, but it doesn't actively screw the cast and concept of Enterprise over, which "These Are The Voyages..." definitely does.

+1 for "Precious Cargo". Which means that, and I'm sure to the surprise of no one, "These Are The Voyages..." is officially the worst episode of Enterprise!

So be it. IMO, TATV wasn't that bad, but I will admit that its placement as final episode made it the "Valentine" equivalent of a bouquet of dead flowers, a box of chocolate coated Ex-lax, and a ring that turns your finger green. It was the one place in Trek where Jonathan Frakes (by his own assertion) should not have been.

Maybe I'll give "Precious" a rewatch. It might not have been that bad...

It really IS that bad. It's actually on my very short list of episodes in the franchise I can't defend.

If the finale wasn't here, "PRECIOUS CARGO" would easily win 'worst episode' in my book.

I never said it was defensible. It's most assuredly not. Just that it's bad because of its status as the finale. With a few tweaks (set it in 2155 and don't kill off Trip), it would have been an Ok piece of fanservice.

Actually, I was referring to "PRECIOUS CARGO" being indefensible.

However, I still feel "THESE ARE THE VOYAGES..." would not make a goid episode. But I can at least defend the final voiceover of Kirk, Picard, and Archer. But that's the ONLY redeeming quality of it.
