The Most Disliked Episode of ENT, Final Round: 2021 Edition...

Well, I'm a Trip/T'Pol shipper, and I waited a loooong time for things to heat up between these two. Jealous!T'Pol is really funny, and Jolene did a great job with that. And the Sphere-Builder revelations were compelling too. So "Harbinger" gets another point.

"TERRA NOVA" - 0
"PRECIOUS CARGO" - 1
"CANAMAR" - 2
"HARBINGER" - 2
"CHOSEN REALM" - 2
"THESE ARE THE VOYAGES..." - 0
"STORM FRONT" - 1

I just reached "A Night in Sickbay" on my Enterprise rewatch. Ye gods and all the blessed saints. Why isn't it still here?

Because someone with a twisted sense of humor and no taste whatsoever had the nerve to save it.

That someone was me.

While it wasn't a great episode, at least "A NIGHT IN SICKBAY" was going for something different. I applaud that, and I say there are far worse episodes of this series.

Far more boring ones, too. I'd argue being boring is much worse than being really bad. In the entertainment industry, being boring is probably the worst thing you could be.

Well, it featured a steamy decon chamber scene, tongue scraping, a treadmill pissing contest, a runaway bat, a doggy funeral, vanishing undergarments, multiple Freudian slips, a chameleon, dreads, and a chainsaw. What's not to like?

And 'one paw in Beagle heaven'. Don't forget about that line.

(I thought it was funny, but my wife absolutely loves that line. And she's not a dog person.)

That's exactly a feature I love of these games -- most of the Famously Terrible eps get saved, because they're often particularly beloved by someone for some offbeat reason.

As someone who has "Sub Rosa" on their personal Best Trek list, I can relate.

It's all a matter of perspective. I enjoyed "A Night in Sickbay." I saw it thru the lens of a dog lover. Plus, for me, no other episode approaches the supreme badness of TATV. Compared to that hour of dreck, "ANIS" is Shakespeare. It was nominated for a Hugo, even, so somebody liked it.

I saw the preview spot for it. It was teased as a goofy comedy. No hint of the dying dog. Kind of a head-scratcher...maybe that was an effort to salvage it? Or maybe it was a hint of how the showrunners saw that episode.

TATV would have been fine, with some modifications, as long as it wasn't the @*$#!-ing series finale!

Indeed, it would have been a cool bit of fan service to have Riker turn up on the show.

ANIS was awful. I just saved it because it made me laugh.

A Night in Sickbay definitely a bad episode, but one of those in the same category as Threshold or Genesis. They can be enjoyable if you go in expecting the worse, and drink alcohol. ;)

Precious Cargo doesn't really have anything to redeem it.

Also looking at the remaining episodes, have we ever been stuck at two votes like this?

If no new vote occurs after 48 hours from the last vote, whichever episode reached 2 first is the one that gets saved.

Which means that at 4:56 a.m. EST (a couple minutes shy of 13 hours from now), "CANAMAR" would be saved.

I just rewatched "Canamar", it doesn't deserve to be saved :nyah:

It's better than "Precious Cargo" though...

You've just contradicted yourself. Only the VERY WORST episode doesn't deserve to be saved. That's the point of this exercise.

If you'll excuse the Voyager pun, there is a threshold below which I refuse to go.

Same. Indeed, I've periodically abstained in the closing rounds of these games, just because the choices were such crap.

I've always been of the mindset that every episode has something to redeem it. Or defend its existence.

There are VERY FEW that I feel I can't defend at all. Probably less than a full hand's worth.
