I love The Abandoned. Odo coming across the Jem'Hadar youngster was good because we got a look at their culture. Then when he tried to raise the youngster with his recently found Founder status, it was intriguing.

Hmmm. Three here that are could basically be a tie for next save. I'll go with... "Through The Looking Glass." I really enjoy the initial trilogy of DS9 MU episodes. Such a bummer how off-the-rails it goes subsequently, and it's true that this is where the cracks start appearing, but on the whole this episode still satisfies.

I agree the MU story was consistently good until Bareil and Kira visited the DS9 universe. That was a real snoozefest.

And don't get me started on The Emporer's New Cloak.

I can sometimes get into "Resurrection" these days, in that it at least was a viable way to do a ROTW -- it's believable how fast it's happening, if it's with an alternate universe duplicate of someone you already have intimacy with. And it's nice to see Kira & Intendant interact again.

But man was I in a RAAAAAAGE when it first aired! The end of "Shattered Mirror" lines everything up perfectly for a big, exciting season 5 MU episode. I waited all season 5 for that episode to arrive, so eager to get back to the MU to see how they were going to deliver on all the dramatic promises "Shattered Mirror" had made to the audience.

And then finally in season 6 what we get is "RESURRECTION"? I'm surprised I didn't put my fist thru the TV.

Removing Search. I’m surprised it made it this far. It’s not the best of the series pivotal episodes but it fundamentally defined the series main enemy.

My final vote is or Destiny. I quite like this one, if it's just not as strong as some of the more immediately good episodes in S3.

I just like seeing Sisko being forced to fight for the one thing that he has shown indifference towards since he was declared the Emissary.

My final vote for this season is "PROPHET MOTIVE". Some funny moments, and is not nearly as bad as "MERIDIAN".


"MERIDIAN" wins season 3. I will start the awesome season 4 later tonight.

No doubt about that in my mind. Merdian is just a stinker of an episode.

Speaking of Trek's trouble with ROTW's! I feel like every terrible Trek ep has a few passionate defenders (I know, as I'm frequently among them -- "Sub Rosa" forever!)... but I don't think I ever see anyone expressing love for "Meridian"

I guess Merdian has the funny B-story with Jeffrey Combs that I always forget about, but it's still quite a small part of the episode.

I got ninja-ed with Destiny, grrr. I thought it was actually a pretty good episode, marred only by the subplot with O'Brien and one of the scientists.

Meridian is a worthy loser, though. Even with the "Quark's head on Kira's body" bit.

In the B story, Nana Visitor is utterly incredible in that scene where Quark stages her winning some big prize to try to trick her into entering the holosuite. She's playing so much subtext about her traumatic past, within the context of this absurd, fluffy scene. What a talent she is.

It's also a great bit of scripting that when Kira "wins" the free session in a holosuite, she's THRILLED -- because she can pass it along to the lower decker whose birthday it is!

I should watch that one again just for that plot. Anything involving Jeffrey Combs is likely to be a treat anyway.
