The Most Disliked Episode of DS9 - Season 2...

The Siege is probably the second best episode of the opening trilogy. I love the whole Kira/Dax flying by the seat of your pants scene, as well as the whole station resistance story. Quark and his latinum is pretty fun as well.

THE CIRCLE
MELORA
SECOND SIGHT
SANCTUARY
THE ALTERNATE
SHADOWPLAY
PLAYING GOD

"SHADOWPLAY" because the idea of a village of holograms thinking that they are real was relatively new then. I mean "Ship In A Bottle" introduced the idea of sentient holograms and the one before that with Moriarty but that was somewhat different.

THE CIRCLE
MELORA
SECOND SIGHT
SANCTUARY
THE ALTERNATE
PLAYING GOD

I'm saving SANCTUARY because it was a intelligent look at immigration on Bajor. It's the episode about the bumpy aliens who wanted to work hard and settle legally, but Bajor said no. I liked how it didn't try to have a happy ending.

...

And exceptionally it took some time for the UT to begin translating their language. Usually, it does so instantly.

I will save "The Circle." I loved the ambition of that three-parter.

Man, the gut-punch of that ending. It's incredible. One of my favorite final scenes.

I'll save "MELORA", good intentions behind that episode, though little else I am afraid.

THE ALTERNATE

SECOND SIGHT
THE ALTERNATE
PLAYING GOD

Bashir came across nicely, a sincere, stand up guy, and I liked Melora. She was my favorite of all Bashir's women.

Close call, but I’ll save The Alternate, for having some strong scenes between Odo and Dr. Mora.

SECOND SIGHT
PLAYING GOD

I liked Sisko's surreal affair with a psychic projection. Saving SECOND SIGHT.

PLAYING GOD wins, or loses.

I almost saved "Playing God" on my last turn, I enjoy it -- or, rather, I enjoy the vole subplot, and any time they really explore the Trill.

So many of the Trill episodes deeply misfire for me ("Dax", "Equilibrium", "Field Of Fire"), and then there's this tier of mediocre episodes that I view through a forgiving lens because they're the best we get in terms of world-building the Trill ("Playing God", "Facets", "Invasive Procedures", "Prodigal Daughter")

At least we also get "Rejoined", the one perfect Trill episode.

I like the parts with the Trill in Playing God, it suffers though from too much other things happening in the episode, which aren't very thrilling. It's like the good Odo/Mora scenes in the otherwise average The Alternate. For me, Second Sight or Melora were probably the weakest for me this season.

Wasn't it also the first erotic kiss between two women, on Star Trek?
