Game The Most Disliked 7th Season Episode

VOY “Flesh and Blood” gets saved. Lots of credit for a story about holotechnology that doesn’t feel stale and repetitive. Besides, Picardo is great.

TNG: "Descent, Part II"
TNG: "Interface"
TNG: "Force of Nature"
TNG: "Journey's End"
TNG: "Firstborn"
TNG: "Bloodlines"
DS9: "Afterimage"
DS9: "Chrysalis"
DS9: "Prodigal Daughter"
DS9: "'Til Death Do Us Part"
VOY: "Inside Man"
VOY: "Nightingale"
VOY: "Repentance"
VOY: "Prophecy"
VOY: "Natural Law"

"Prophecy" is fun. An unexpectedly good use of the Klingons on VOY.

TNG: "Force of Nature"
TNG: "Journey's End"
TNG: "Firstborn"

DS9: "Chrysalis"
DS9: "Prodigal Daughter"
DS9: "'Til Death Do Us Part"
VOY: "Inside Man"
VOY: "Nightingale"
VOY: "Repentance"
VOY: "Natural Law"

NO episode of the DS9 final arc deserves to win this. "'TIL DEATH DO US PART" is saved.

TNG: "Force of Nature"
TNG: "Journey's End"
TNG: "Firstborn"

DS9: "Afterimage"
DS9: "Chrysalis"
DS9: "Prodigal Daughter"
VOY: "Inside Man"
VOY: "Nightingale"
VOY: "Repentance"
VOY: "Natural Law"

Getting down to some pretty bad ones. But I'll give "Inside Man" the save, for Barclay and Troi making an encore appearance.

TNG: "Descent, Part II"
TNG: "Interface"
TNG: "Force of Nature"
TNG: "Journey's End"
TNG: "Firstborn"
TNG: "Bloodlines"
DS9: "Afterimage"
DS9: "Chrysalis"
DS9: "Prodigal Daughter"
VOY: "Nightingale"
VOY: "Repentance"
VOY: "Natural Law"

"Journey's End" isn't as terrible as I remembered it being.
It's also retroactively improved by "Farewell" picking up the Wesley-as-Traveler thread, however briefly.

TNG: "Descent, Part II"
TNG: "Interface"
TNG: "Force of Nature"
TNG: "Firstborn"
TNG: "Bloodlines"
DS9: "Afterimage"
DS9: "Chrysalis"
DS9: "Prodigal Daughter"
VOY: "Nightingale"
VOY: "Repentance"
VOY: "Natural Law"

Saving "AFTERIMAGE". Because the only reason an episode with Garak in it should win any of these is if it's a game of 'Most Disliked Garak Appearance'.

TNG: "Descent, Part II"
TNG: "Interface"
TNG: "Force of Nature"
TNG: "Firstborn"
TNG: "Bloodlines"
DS9: "Chrysalis"
DS9: "Prodigal Daughter"
VOY: "Nightingale"
VOY: "Natural Law"

VOY: "Repentance" because it (tries to) tackles some major ethical dilemmas.

Sometimes an episode has to feel like a shot to the gut to make a point.

Saving "AFTERIMAGE". Because the only reason an episode with Garak in it should win any of these is if it's a game of 'Most Disliked Garak

What spoiled that one for me was the incredibly flimsy pretext of Ezri joining the crew. Not sure DS9Bneeds a counselor who's more neurotic than her patients...

Wow, only below-average episodes left. I'll go with Chrysalis because I loved the chemistry of the Jack Pack, and I love the song they sing to help Sarina come out of her non-vocal state.

TNG: "Descent, Part II"
TNG: "Interface"
TNG: "Force of Nature"
TNG: "Firstborn"
TNG: "Bloodlines"
DS9: "Prodigal Daughter"
VOY: "Nightingale"
VOY: "Natural Law"

Kind of in the same boat. Of what’s left, remember one episode but I don’t want to save it :shifty:

I know the feeling. The rest are either mediocre, dismal, insulting, or I haven't seen them.

That being said, "Force of Nature" is probably the least offensive episode I can find here. If nothing else, it had an intriguing premise, albeit one that was poorly developed.

TNG: "Interface"
TNG: "Firstborn"
TNG: "Bloodlines"
DS9: "Prodigal Daughter"
VOY: "Nightingale"
VOY: "Natural Law"

I haven't done a full rewatch of TNG/DS9/VOY for over a decade and a half. I remember so little of all three aside from snapshots. I really need to one day, but right now I'm mired in Enterprise... Not such a bad place to be mired though. :D

If the HD remaster happened I'd be onto DS9 like a shot.

These are some bottom of the barrel choices. Frankly, had "THE EMPEROR'S NEW CLOAK" been still here, I would say it would take the prize. But since it was saved by someone else, I can take the last DS9 one off the list... "PRODIGAL DAUGHTER".

Honestly, it's bad. Really bad. But at least this one doesn't...

Start a season long thread of long lost family members, showcase the Duras sisters AND Worf's 'parental skills', redo a revenge story VERY badly, or make an experienced officer look like a newbie.

But at least the last one actually had two characters fall in love after crash landing and take their relationship to the next level, which would explain their dating in the finale.

(snaps fingers) Oh, wait. That didn't happen, despite being the PERFECT opportunity for it to happen.

Hence, why I am saving the last DS9 one from this list. And calling it my last vote for this game.

TNG: "Interface"
TNG: "Firstborn"
TNG: "Bloodlines"
VOY: "Nightingale"
VOY: "Natural Law"

YMMV, but I don't think any of the ones left are truely terrible, just a bit boring. The ones I particularly dislike have all been saved as they are liked by someone. Saving "Natural Law" - it raises some interesting issues and debates them a bit and there's a funny but predictable B storyline with Paris.

TNG: "Interface"
TNG: "Firstborn"
TNG: "Bloodlines"
VOY: "Nightingale"

I’d save “Bloodlines” if only for Jason’s final moments with Picard-- the joke about hairlines and accepting a Gorian artifact as a parting gift. Picard was a better father figure than he realized.

TNG: "Interface"
TNG: "Firstborn"

Saving "Interface" so "Firstborn" is the winner. "Interface" and the episodes where Geordi is a bit creepy towards Leah Brahms are pretty much the only Geordi-episodes (I can't think of any others but please correct me if I'm wrong). I'm sure it's really hard to cope with the death of a loved one if you can't be 100% certain they are dead.

I remember New Ground getting last minute saved awhile ago, so it's fitting that another Alexander episode gets hammered. Most are worthy choices.

Saving Nightingale. Harry Kim was getting a little too sure of himself, thinking he had the experience and knowhow to be captain and it was kind of fun to watch him being smacked down by reality.

I saw it as feelings of inadequacy that he was still an ensign when he should have been a full lieutenant at least. He had something to prove and bit off more than he could chew.
