Game The Most Disliked 7th Season Episode

Saving "Interface" so "Firstborn" is the winner. "Interface" and the episodes where Geordi is a bit creepy towards Leah Brahms are pretty much the only Geordi-episodes (I can't think of any others but please correct me if I'm wrong). I'm sure it's really hard to cope with the death of a loved one if you can't be 100% certain they are dead.

Arsenal of Freedom is a great Geordi episode.
Identity Crisis and Mind's Eye are two others that come immediately to mind. The Next Phase was a good focus on LaForge, but also featured Ro.

Interface was pretty meh, but it was nice to see the La Forge family, a Starfleet clan if ever there was one, spread throughout the quadrant on their various ships. It deserves being relegated to the silver slot for that alone.

"The Enemy" is also a Geordi episode. It's interesting that it immediately follows "Booby Trap." Essentially no Geordi eps for two seasons, and then two in a row...

Then no other Geordi eps until "Galaxy's Child", and then "Identity Crisis" is only two after that...

Then "I, Borg" in season 5 is also consecutively followed by "The Next Phase"!

That is a weird pattern now that I suddenly see it. Did they keep realizing they'd forgotten Geordi, and then overdo it? But yeah, there's not many Geordi eps.

I also always felt a little bad for "Interface" for the derisive comments the writers would make about. Just found it on Memory Alpha:

It was during the production of this episode that Ronald D. Moore felt TNG had gone as far as it could be taken. "I think it was a point where we were in the room and we were talking about bringing Geordi's mother in, and we all kind of looked at each other and we were like, 'This is sad. This is the best we can do? Is this the best we can do, is Geordi's mother?' It was such a "who cares" idea that we were just sort of, 'Oh man… This show has got to end'."

Which I find such an obnoxious attitude. I mean, Geordi's mother is a totally solid seed of an episode! There's a million ways to go with that. Either see the potential, or move on. The possibilities of the Trekverse are literally infinite. The problem at that point wasn't the show, it was the writers.

So I don't love "Interface", but I also kind of feel bad for this poor underdog episode. Hated by it's creators from the moment of inception!

I was kind of rooting for "Natural Law" to win. That one drives me absolutely insane.

"Firstborn" is pretty lousy, so a fitting final-one-standing.

We never played this as a game before, so no previous winner to list.

Next up: "The Most Disliked Fourth Season Episode."

The 7th seasons tend to be among the least well regarded, whereas every Trek show that has delivered a 4th season, it ends up being considered their best (or at the very least, among their best). So swinging from one end of fanbase consensus to the other.

And also, this is continuing the 47 theme a little longer...

Thanks for playing all, hope to see you on the next one!

You're right - there are a lot more Geordi episodes than I remembered! I feel silly for forgetting "The Enemy".
