The most annoying sound in DS9...

Ooh, another contender...Alexander's ridiculous grunting during Bat'leth practice.

Edited after contemplation:
Literally any sound coming out of Alexander's mouth.

Brooks' delivery wasn't heartbreaking, it was pure narm. It's one of two instances of the worst deliveries in DS9.

False. Brooks gives one of the best performances in any Trek show. That it made so many people uncomfortable, good, it was meant to. If you’ve ever seen anyone break down and ugly cry, it’s not a pretty sight — and you can’t accuse them of ‘overacting’ or whatever.

Anyway, upon reflection, I have to agree the Allamaraine song was the most annoying sound ever to disgrace DS9.

I honestly find "Allamaraine" catchy, mainly because of Avery Brooks' singing of it.

Seriously.

Come on, folks! Ready. A 1, and a 2, and a 3, and a 4...

(singing)
Allamaraine, count to four
Allamaraine, then three more
Allamaraine, if you can see
Allamaraine, you'll come with me!

"Commander" Karen Farris of Red Squad's snotty superior whine.

That entire episode pissed me off. It's the only episode of DS9 I skip on rewatches.

As for annoying sounds, the way some characters pronounced quadrant as if there was a H in there so it sounds like Quahdrant, was like nails on a black board. Marc Alaimo, Armin Shimerman and I think Casey Biggs were the worst culprits for this. Also that one time mirror garak yelled "PURSUE!" Fuck that was cringe inducing.

The pilot, Sisko: "ooooooowEEEE!!"

I'm never sure if it's supposed to indicate his pain at the hot sand, his joy at seeing Jennifer, his surprise at the situation, etc. I'm mostly convinced it's supposed to be all those and possibly more, all at once.

Regardless, I do know it evokes a cringe from me every time.

Crap chair foley in episode 506 at about the 28 minute mark. It's not in sync with the chairs and it's not the right sound for what the chairs are doing.
