The Misc. Police Racism and Brutality Megathread

Then, learn about it before overreacting.

There was no overreaction on my part. It was an appropriate response, not understanding that the entire thread had been bumped in a only few short days.

Seems silly to not have at least looked on the next page. What did you think all those numbers at the bottom were for?
Lottery numbers?

Besides, it's more fun for him to make this thread about him.

It was not at the bottom of any of the pages. It was bumped off completely. I think that was the was the point of the discussion about the Search function.

Besides, it's more fun for him to make this thread about him.

I did no such thing. I believe you are making the thread about me.

You are continuing the same way you went in the last thread. You'll get the same ending as that thread. Try learning from past experience.

I am simply responding to the comments of others.

Clearly not going to learn. So, keep it up. If you don't you lose...

It's terrible of me but I can't help but laugh whenever I see his little roll there. I mean, I think it was an attempt to recover from a trip without losing his forward progress or to end up prone but it's just so ridiculous looking it makes me laugh even thinking about it.

Me too, plus the additional benefit of reminding me of George C. Scott in a great movie:

Funny. The other thread was completely deleted, not just closed. Misuse of authority is absolutely a valid topic.

You've earned yourself another Infraction, filed under OTHER, for using an unrelated thread to protest a non-existent moderator action despite being told not to. COMMENTS TO PM, not that it will make much difference with you.

In your original thread, you were told by multiple posters to stop mischaracterizing their posts. You were told by the moderator to stop doing it twice. You refused, and you received a trolling infraction.

You then chose to act out by frivolously notifying on almost a dozen posts that weren't troublesome as payback for your original infraction. You were told by the moderator to stop. You refused, and you received an infraction.

You frivolously notified on another post. You received another infraction for it. You were told by the moderator to stop again. You were told by the admin to stop or this would be your last chance.

Now you're protesting a Moderator Action that didn't even take place (because your thread was never deleted) in a completely different thread where you've received no admonishment (and derailing the thread to make it all about you again, because you refuse to let anything people say to you go), despite every infraction you've received saying "Comments to PM" and despite the fact that I have spent more time and effort having to deal with your nonsense via PM than I have with any other poster before during my time at TrekBBS.

At the rate you're going, you're going to end up banned from TrekBBS all over one infraction which you couldn't let go. I really hope it was worth it, because from where I'm standing, it just looks like an incredibly stupid thing to potentially get banned over.

"Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the War Room!
"

But surely the point is debate the other posters not make comments about them.

While that's terrible for that young woman and her family, it seems like kind of a stretch to try and include Paul Blart stalking and murdering a woman under the "Police Racism and Brutality" theme. It's not like we're running low on incidents involving actual police and racism.

Chuckle. Correct. Mall cops are not even cops, they are employees of security company. While George Zimmerman and this fellow may illustrate the need for security companies to continually reexamine their screening processes, for the most part security employees are completely harmless, and many of them have never had any experience in law enforcement.

I would imagine such security guards are actually worse behaved.
Most are merely employees doing their job, which is twofold: watching for criminal activity AND interacting positively with the public. They are the face of the mall owners to most people.

I would imagine such security guards are actually worse behaved.

As someone who regularly employs and interacts with security guards, I have to disagree. In many ways, security guards embody the old-school public perception of cops: friendly, smiling, helpful, harmless, and trustworthy.

I don't know, man. There's been a lot of coverage about how black folks are targeted by security guards on a regular basis for fear they're shoplifters.

And cops think they are soldiers and in many ways it's played out worse with them.
