Spoilers The Mandalorian season 2 discussion

Hm so Ming-Na did an interview with the 501st during a charity stream, and according to her Mark Hamill was not on set.

So I guess his scenes were shot without the other actors?

His code name in the script was 'Plo-Koon', and R2-D2 was painted green instead of Blue. But the actor who was there was still in full Skywalker costume, robe, glove, saber, everything.

Well since none of the other actors are ever in the same frame with him in any of the shots, there's no need to have everyone else there just to stand around off camera in full costume and not say anything...
So yeah, between that and the secrecy concerns, I imagine it was done on a closed set, and for their shots there was just the stand-in/body double.

Yeah, but that stand-in was in the full Skywalker costume according to Ming-Na. So if they were trying to keep Luke a secret, even to the cast, that is an odd choice.

I guess for the actors who never watched ROTJ (or haven't watched it recently) it would go over their heads, but Ming-Na is a big fan and she recognized it right away.

As I said, the R2-D2 was also green instead of Blue to also try and keep it secret. So yeah it's kinda weird lol

Brilliant. Feels like Hasbro did that just to embarrass the man.

As for Mando... season 3 feels like such a long way away :weep:

I definitely plan on one for myself.

Filioni gets to direct Star Wars, be in Star Wars, is regarded as the savior of Star Wars by many. But an action is embarrassing? And Hasbro is doing this maliciously?

:wtf:

Wow, not the reaction I was expecting from my tongue in cheek post.

I never said anything about Hasbro doing it maliciously.

If you watch the behind the scenes show of Mando season 1, Filoni was mortified about the prospect of getting in an X-wing and being made a character on the show. Favreau had to basically force him to do it.

I was only joking saying he'd probably go all red seeing himself made into an action figure, that's all.

Deliberately embarrassing someone is malicious to my view.

Anywaaay... brilliant that they made an action figure of the character! I suspect Filoni will be blushing a bit, whilst geeking out at the same time.
