Spoilers The Mandalorian season 2 discussion

Have any stories ever addressed if Luke and Ahsoka met or were aware of each other?
Ever since the end of Rebels, I thought it was kind of weird that they actually left Ahsoka alive and active going into the Original Trilogy and post Return of the Jedi era.
I find it really hard to believe that they would not have become aware of each other at some point. They are two of the only non-Imperial force users left, and with them both being active in the Rebellion, at different points, they most likely would have interacted with at least a few of the same people. I would think at some point Luke would have run into someone who knew her as Fulcrum, and I can't believe they wouldn't have told him she used lightsabers and the Force. If he did find out about her, I find it very hard to believe he wouldn't do everything he could to track her down.
And from Ahsoka's side I find it hard to believe that the fact that a Rebel pilot named Skywalker destroyed the Death Star wouldn't have reached her, and I would expect the moment she heard that name she would have gone to find him.
I have a strong feeling that was left open ended for a reason.

No question. It's the one big "Skywalker Saga" beat they have left to hit with her.

I imagine there are a number of ways they could create a situation where Ahsoka chooses not to interact with Luke, for whatever reason. Or just one where the opportunity never presents itself, probably because Ahsoka is too busy doing whatever she is up to (searching for Ezra, etc.). But I feel like, at some point, they are going to have to show us Ahsoka's reaction the first time she hears the name Luke Skywalker.

I would love to see the two converse. Particularly post-ROTJ, when Luke can tell her that Anakin re-emerged before the end and found his way back. But who knows what medium that conversation will ever take place in, if we were to even get it.

Ooooo, I like that idea.
For anyone who hasn't watched The Clone Wars and Rebels and wants to learn more about Bo-Katan, IGN has posted an article about her appearances on those shows. I'm a little confused though, Wookiepedia only has her appearing in two Rebels episodes, the Heroes of Mandalore two-parter, but IGN has four.

Wookiepedia is correct. She only appeared in the first two episodes of Rebels final season.

One of the podcasts I'm listening to as a companion to my viewing of the show pointed out something that hadn't registered with me due to my unfamiliarity with the supplementary Canon novels and comics: Moff Gideon clearly wasn't considered to be among the Empire's 'best', or else he would be in the Unknown Regions with the Imperial Remnant that became the First Order and that Palpatine resumed control of via proxy through Snoke.

I'd also dispute that the criteria for "the best" is as advertised, and not in actuality "most useful to Palpatine's plans". For example, had he still been around by that point I seriously doubt Thrawn would have gotten that invite; far too much of an independent thinker. Indeed, he'd be dangerous enough that his name would have probably been on a list of people to execute on sight as part of Operation Cinder.

As for Gideon; we really don't know what the deal is. He could just be a would-be warlord carving out his own little Empire with the plunder of Mandalore. He could be a true believer and truly thinks he can restore order to a chaotic galaxy. Or he could be a front man for the nascent First Order, funnelling intel and resources out to the Unknown Regions.

I don't know if Luke ever met Ahsoka, but he certainly was aware of her at the very least...

Cool, so at least we know he was aware of her.
If they do meet, I have a feeling something this big would probably be show on screen in some form, probably in a TV series. If we do get it onscreen, I wonder if they'll do it late enough in the timeline we can have Mark Hamill?

^ you have a typo there, it should be Katan Sackhoff
edit: typo corrected, now my silly comment makes even less sense...

Honestly, I would think a animated series and bring back both Hamil and Eckstein since both are accomplished voice actors.

Yeah, that would work. With such a major moment, it would be nice to have the original actors playing the characters.
I have to admit, I'm a little shocked we haven't gotten a new animated series since Resistance ended. I know we have the live action show now, but I don't see why that would have to stop the animated shows.

I thought they were working on "The Bad Batch" as the next animated installment. Maybe I'm misremembering. I recall being less than enthused but animation is animation.

But, if they are not, I'm with you and quite surprised. Unless they are hoping that Ahsoka's appearance will generate another idea for a spin off, since they are wanting to expand the Mandalorian mythos.

And Hasbro has already revealed action figures from the series even though we have yet to see even a sneak preview from its production. Two Clones from the Bad Batch in the 6" Black Series line.

Speaking of figures: you know I literally just found out today (not surprisingly because I don't keep track of this stuff) that there's NEVER been a Bo-Katan figure?
I just did a search on a whim, never even occurred to me that there wouldn't be one. I mean, this is Star Wars! *Everyone* up to and including random background characters get at least one figure, no? Well, no, apparently not Bo-Katan. Anyone else think that's just such a bizarre oversight, especially considering she popped up in two animated shows no less?

Not really, no. Hasbro has been hit and miss with what figures they have been doing, with a lot of repeats in different lines. The diversity of their line up took a hit for a bit, especially during TLJ and TROS.

I do wonder if they will correct that with the emphasis on the Mandalorian right now.
