Spoilers The Mandalorian season 2 discussion

I know I’m in the vast minority, but I really liked Solo. It had its problems but I never thought it was as bad as many felt it was. Oh well...

I'm with you. I'll take Solo or Rogue One over the entire Sequel Trilogy any time.

I'm right there with you both. Rogue One is my third favorite Star Wars movie right after ANH and ESB. Solo is a close 4th, almost a tie for 3rd. My biggest complaint with Solo is the extra layer of who the villain really is (for lack of a better word). Bringing in Darth Maul was a bridge too far for me and makes me feel it unnecessarily complicates the movie. Just end the onion layer with Dryden Vos and Tobias Beckett being the villains. I don't quite know how to the get Qi'ra away at the end, but whatever... Something could have been written. Solo was great despite it's troubles behind the scenes.

Dryden Voss was the villain.

Maul was the Emperor in ESB. Not a villain but another layer.

I mean, I don't see how that confuses the issue. It just establishes what Star Wars has always done; evil is defeated for a time.

What Solo SHOULD have been, IMO, is that it all ends up being Kira's master plan to get rid of Dryden and take control of Crimson Dawn. Showing that Kira has long since left behind the idealism she and Han shared due to the undoubtedly terrible life she must have led since their separation. She became a pragmatic survivor and wanted to get rid of Vos, to whom she was basically enslaved, and take control of her own destiny.

But then she just ends up reporting to a different boss. So she gained zero. Huge missed opportunity.

That's been my problem and admittedly there have been times I've done the same. Entertainment is ultimately subjective. One man's trash is another man's treasure. No one has the right to dictate whether something is "garbage" or "the best evah!!!!11!!" for others. But damn, do people try.

I'm also tired of litigating TLJ. Its been three years. Move the fuck on, people. It doesn't need to come up in every conversation about Star Wars.

In your opinion.
Why does everyone state an opinion as god's truth?
Damn, people.
Why should I have to openly state "in my opinion" as the entire post of anyone (myself included) IS expressing an opinion? That can be assumed that it's the poster's opinion anytime you read a post (even if it's on a matter of "fact" assuming they post a source - which I didn't because yes, that WAS my opinion, which you are perfectly able to disagree with. :)

Because, in my opinion, people making PRONOUNCEMENTS sounds like they do not think theirs is an opinion. I AM RIGHT, is the msg I perceive from a lot of posts. Not just here. Also in forums about Trek, where I hang out more.

And, in my opinion, people making pronouncements gets really old.

There's some online talk of people wanting Sebastian Stan to play Luke Skywalker if the character makes further appearances.

He has the look and if they expect more action-oriented appearances showing his face it would make sense. I don't think its actually going to happen though.
