The list of recycled episodes

Ever had deja vu while watching an episode or film? That's because Star Trek's powers-that-be have been remaking old episodes and passing them off as new ones for three decades! I thought a list was in order. If you think of any, please add them...

TOS: "The Changeling"/Star Trek: The Motion Picture

TOS: "The Naked Time"/TNG: "The Naked Now"

VOY: "One"/ENT: "Doctor's Orders"

TAS: "One Of Our Planets is Missing"/VOY: "The Cloud"

TAS: "The Time Trap"/VOY: "The Void"

FWIW, there have also been mightily suspicious Voyager/Stargate SG-1 rehashes. Voyager's "Workforce" two-parter has a very obvious single-episode SG-1 counterpart (who's name eludes me at the moment)

These Voyager episode rehashes come to mind.

"One" VOY/"Doctor's Orders" ENT

"Friendship One" VOY/"Terra Nova" ENT

And DS9...

"Shadowplay" DS9/"Oasis"

TOS "Squire of Gothos" and Q in "Encounter at Farpoint," and "Hide And Q"

Both used the Enterprise crew members for their amusement-both acted as judges.

At the end of each episodes, they were both made to disappear-Q was taken back to the Continuum by his superiors, and Trelane was taken back by his "parents".

The Stargate SG-1 episode is called "Beneath the Surface", it's damn similar to "Workforce". I prefer the former; "Workforce" feels a bit drawn out and I vastly prefer SG-1's cast overall. Still, "Beneath the Surface" doesn't have Tuvok cracking up, so that's its loss.

Not just Voyager either. Actually the entire first season of SG-1 is a marathon of ripoffs from better/more memorable movies and TV shows, mostly from TOS and TNG, plus one anomaly that's either Omega Glory or Apocalypse Now, or both.

It's one of the reasons I detest Stargate SG-1.

There's also that one Enterprise episode that was a religious-themed rehash of "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield."

DS9's "The Valiant" seems very similar to the final battle scene in Star wars.

Where the rebels are trying to destroy the much bigger Death Star, after analyzing data, they find a weakness; they figure they have to launch a torpedo directly into a narrow passage way in order to destroy it.

In Valiant, the crew face a much bigger Dominion battle ship.

After analyzing data they discover they have to fire the torpedoe into a specific narrow spot.

In both, there is a first attempt that appears to work, but then someone says, 'no, it just impacted on the surface' or 'it didn't work'...

Then there's "The Seige Ar-558" DS9.

It looks very similar to scenes in Saving Private Ryan.

Sisko arrives at an outpost where the crew's numbers has been dwindled down and most of the senior officers killed.

Sisko stays and takes over and there is a final battle.

There's even a scene where Bashir plays music while the crew waits for the attack.

The same things happened in Saving Private Ryan.
