I confess: I was working on the book the other day and only after 300 pages or so did it occur to me to some of the dialogue could be taken the wrong way:

"Hurry! We can't let him get away with the pot!"

"We'll never find the pot!"

"The pot will be mine, no matter what it takes!"

Etc.

Naturally, you need to acknowledge this and use it as a joke. E.g. everyone stares -- "You know what I mean!" Also consider puns about potheads and the like.
