The Librarians--Season 3

Really enjoyed this episode. We got some nice laughs with the people becoming obsessed with Cidy, and we also got a nice message at the end. We also got some really nice material for Jones there at the end, and I really hope we get to see more of Cindy.

FYI: I just got word that Amazon is currently having a "Lightning Sale" on my first Librarians book, starting at 12:55 PST.

Thanks for the heads-up, Greg.

I nabbed it early due to being a Prime member. Looking forward to reading it.:)

FYI: Dean Devlin just posted on Facebook that tonight's episode is an important one.

Beyond that I will keep my mouth shut, since I've been sworn to secrecy regarding the events of Season Three.

This was pretty good for the most part, although the ending felt like a bit of a copout. It's hard to believe Cassandra could have such a large, invasive brain tumor excised so completely and easily with so little in the way of consequences, either cognitive difficulties or extensive recovery time. Hell, she apparently didn't even get her head shaved! And not only did she not lose her synesthesia, but her power's actually been amplified and she's apparently a Muse now. (I guess the tumor was holding her power back instead of causing it?) I know this has never exactly been a gritty or downbeat show, but it's way too pat and easy a resolution to the tumor arc.

I did like Cassandra's relationship with Estrella, though. The actress was lovely, and I could swear I recognized her face and voice, but apparently I've never seen her in anything before. Her name is Clara Lago, which means Clear Lake (though the genders don't match) -- rather fitting, given the storyline.

Pretty obvious that Flynn was about to propose to Eve before they were interrupted.

One thing I really liked about this one is how casual it was about Cassandra's romantic flexibility. In a single episode, she expresses romantic interest in a much older man and shares a mutual attraction with a woman, and both are presented entirely matter-of-factly.

I finally saw it. On Demand has been awfully slow lately. That was quite an eventful episode. Here I had been thinking that they had decided to forget about Cassandra's brain tumor and just not mention it anymore-- but I guess they had plans. She thought that it was the brain tumor that was causing her strange abilities, but it looks like it was just holding her back. Now her visualizations have not only expanded, but she can apparently plant information in other people's brains. I've been trying to remember exactly what happened in that Lady of the Lake episode. Didn't the Lady of the Lake make some kind of prediction about Cassandra? I can't remember, but this may tie in to that.

There was so much going on with her in this episode that I was actually worried. She was coming on to Jenkins, the Vampire girl was coming on to her. I was concerned that she might actually die at the end, and I was relieved that she was okay.

There's two episodes to go this year. I wonder what will happen to her now.

You would think that the ultimate Cassandra sans peanut would have mentioned how good it is to be peanutless?

Good lords, did she Prime Directive herself?

Natural evolution ≥ The curse/blessing of surprise power.

^^ I'll bet. :rommie: I suppose you know what's next for her, too. There had to a reason for this development that will make itself clear in the next two episodes....

I don't suppose you have any insider information on renewal? :D

Anybody else remember to watch?

I thought that the Monkey King was pretty cool. And Charlene came back-- but for the very last time. :( She was the one that Jenkins is in love with, but she will now go to join Judson.

And she seemed to be aware that Flynn must sacrifice his own life to save the world from Epep.

Last week, Cassandra gained new powers when her brain tumor was removed and this week Jake gained new powers from the staff of Shangri-La. Presumably next week Ezekial will gain new powers as well and they will combine to defeat Epep. I wonder if Flynn will really have to give up his life.

And I wonder how DOSA will gain entry to the library. Eve escaped from them pretty easily when Ezekial showed up. I wonder if she sold out to Vanessa Williams.

It also hints that Charlene used to be Guenevere, if all the knights of the round table had a thing for the Queen.

I just watched an interview with Dean Devlin in which he maintained that Charlene was not Guenevere, since the Library (which dates back to ancient Alexandria) predates Camelot.

Plus, Lancelot (aka Dulaque, in the show) was the one who had the affair with Guinevere. Jenkins is Galahad, who in the legends was Lancelot's illegitimate son with Elaine, and was the pure and chaste one whose only desire was to find the Holy Grail.

It's possible to be in love with someone, and keep your dick in your pants Christopher.

I can totally agree with that.

...but Why couldn't Gwen have already have been immortal if Merlin, Morgana (Alicia Witt!), Lancelott and Arthur (well, he's in stasis napping, but you get the point.) all also turned out to be immortal by the end of the Story.

How sad that, because most probably Gwen is not Charlene, the Queen craps out as the odd lady out, by registering as the only mortal in the gang. :(
