Okay Trek fans, this game has been a success in the series boards, and it's time to move it to the big screen. The basic idea is your standard eliminate-with-votes game. I'll provide a list of the movies from I-X and you need to give what you consider to be the worst/your least favorite movie ONE point, and briefly explain WHY. Be sure to copy and paste the list with your point added. When a movie reaches 5 points, it is eliminated. Then a NEW round begins (in this thread) with the numbers restored to 0. This game is going to get tough once it gets to the end. It will be hard to give a point to one that I dislike the most.

Nemesis - I struggle to sit through the entirety of this film whenever I attempt a viewing.

NEMESIS. Excellent effects and great space battle sequences, but the plot had more holes than a slice of deli-style swiss cheese. And Data's death was far more anticlimactic than Kirk's in GENERATIONS. A big disappointment of a script...the whole movie felt like it was on autopilot.

I'm also voting for TFF because it's just a terrible, terrible movie that should be struck from continunity. The only good thing about it is TOS cast with the exception of William Shatner who was quite possibly at his lowest quality of acting in this movie.

I'm voting for STV: The Final Frontier because the whole thing is awkward and embarrassing.

For what its worth, I don't think Nemesis is nearly as bad as people say it is. I rather enjoyed it. It made some mistakes plotwise, but at least there weren't obscenely blatant continuity errors (the Enterprise suddenly has over 70 decks? The center of the Galaxy isn't that far away? They have Levi's jeans in the future?)

The Final Frontier is miles worse than Nemesis on the pure crap scale.

Yes, we're picking our favorite by eliminating our least favorites.

When it gets down to two, one of them will invariably be liked less than the other.

Well in previous games we had the elimination round that whittled all the episodes in a season down to two. This was done in a brutal way - one vote and the episode was out. This often led to some interesting episodes to be voted for in both the best and worst categories. Effectively, whatever was left at the end was 'least disliked' and 'most disliked' as opposed to best and worst.

Since we've jumped straight to voting here, I think this may be better representative all round.

I'll vote for Nemesis. I think that and TFF are both terrible films, with many plot holes, dumb characterisations, and boring plots. NEM takes the biscuit with me with the bad way it apes TWOK, and the bad handling of Data's death.

I'm going with Insurrection. As has often been said - it really does feel more like an elaborate TV two parter than a movie. Hate the Picard/Worf/Data sing-a-long too. I actually do like this film though!

The Final Frontier. Horrible, messy inconsistent writing. Spock's rocket boots, eurgh. Huge logical problems. I'm not surprised that Nemesis went first but I'd be shocked if this isn't the next to go!

The Final Frontier - Shatner's ego on full display and well as his apparent inability to understand any of the characters aside from Kirk.

I think all the character were awfully portrayed, including Kirk. Then there was also a lot of bad dialogue, stupid unfunny jokes, bad acting (particularly the actors portraying supporting alien characters), terrible pacing etc. It's just awful throughout.

I'm voting for ST5:TFF, just like last time. This time I'm voting for it because Kirk's fight with the cat lady was the least exciting action scene in any Trek movie (the dune buggy scene in Nemesis comes in second, but at least that one had the cool jump onto the shuttle at the end).
