The least disliked episode of Voyager - Final Round

I do not have to think hard about which my favorite is. :) TTDS has been my clear favorite from the beginning. I think it's a perfectly crafted episode, the execution is flawless, and it's such a clever premise -- made at a time when Trek was really struggling with fresh episode setups.

Blink Of An Eye, also a cool idea, but the execution is a bit strained, and it doesn't have as strong character work as TTDS does.

Edit: Oops

Cosmic Mouse's vote was not tallied. This is the current total...

BLINK OF AN EYE - 1
TINKER, TENOR, DOCTOR, SPY - 2

Now, I have thought hard about this. As much as I love this episode, I am a scifi guy at heart, and my favorite of the two has to go with the one with the better concept, and also my love for mythology, which "BLINK OF AN EYE" crafts in very, very well.

My vote this round goes to "TINKER, TENOR, DOCTOR, SPY".

Apologies, Sakonna. I got the posts mixed up.

You are right, your post has them at a tie. And I was giving my vote to TTDS, and giving thoughts about both episodes. Also added what I thought was a missing vote.

I do not think Prax voted. Here is the tally, assuming I was right about Prax not voting...

BLINK OF AN EYE - 1
TINKER, TENOR, DOCTOR, SPY - 2

One more for TTDS.

Blink of an Eye is in the running for my favorite episode of the series. TTDS is top 20, but not quiet first tier.

Blink of an Eye - 2
Tinker, Tenor, Doctor, Spy - 3

Blink for a point. I prefer the humour of the other.

Blink of an Eye - 3
Tinker, Tenor, Doctor, Spy - 3

A worthy winner, from what made it to the final round. I love watching the episode though I would never have described it as my favourite. :)

Congrats to BLINK OF AN EYE. This is an episode I really love albeit it's definitely not my fav ep. There's nothing like SCORPION in my book in the entire ST franchise! :D

And I do not wish to be a spoilsport ... but there's something I'd really like to understand relating to this game. Can anyone explain what the point is of separating two-parters? To me seems as if you have to decide if the first twenty-two and a half minutes of a single episode is better than the second twenty-two and the half ... :brickwall:

Any reasonable justification for this?

I'm thinking it's due to airdate, particularly those with different titles, like half of DS9's two-parters, and season finales/premieres.

However, I do have a question of my own.

Why is there no contest for the animated series? Since their second season had only 6 episodes, it can all be combined into one competition.

Two-part episodes are still two episodes, with clear cut-off points between them, and they originally aired on two different dates (there's no difference between connected finales/premieres and two-part episodes separated by a week). Many two-parters are split story-wise by cliffhangers between seasons, meaning each part is distinct, and even the ones within a single season are sometimes drastically different in story and quality between parts, meaning some parts of the same two-parter are more, or less, beloved than their other parts. For example, many fans consider TNG's Birthright Part I to be great while II completely squanders the potential that the first part suggested. And fans treat them accordingly as separate entities.

No real reason, I just haven't seen The Animated Series, so it never occurred to me to make that thread.

Interesting. I'm a fan but I've never felt this way. To me those two-parters are one story. If you asked me, for example, if I preferred, say THE KILLING GAME Part 1 or Part 2, I wouldn't even understand the question (perhaps after all this discussion here, I would now but I would still be surprised).
But then, it seems that I'm in the minority.
