The least disliked episode of TOS - final part

The Devil in the Dark - 1
The City on the Edge of Forever - 2
Journey to Babel - 2
Mirror, Mirror - 0

Sorry, sticking with Devil in the Dark. Still the dullest of the four left, the least emotionally interesting and the Space Teamsters continually annoy.

City is too much of a tear-jerker for me.

Like the Horta but not as much as what else is left.

I do think COTEOF has to go - its reputation far outweighs the episode itself.

Mirror, Mirror still gets my vote for the same reason as before - painfully obvious stunt performers.

Journey to Babel for making Vulcans less interesting.

Devil in the Dark - 1

Devil in the Dark is really not even in the same class as these other two episodes. It's a nice message with an interesting twist, but it just fails to keep my interest. At the end of the first act, Kirk talks like he needs to find the reactor's pump before everyone dies of asphyxiation or radiation poisoning. Did the transporters suddenly break?

Devil in the Dark - 1
Journey to Babel - 2
Mirror, Mirror - 1

This is a difficult decision. I like all the remaining choices and could easily re-watch any at any time. However, because of Kirk's terrible use of butt-fu, "Journey to Babel" gets my vote this round.

Another vote for Babel. I agree it's not in the same league as the other two.

"Journey to Babel" for having that awkward cut to the fight scene. It comes out of nowhere.

Hard choice--neither is my favorite, but I just think Mirror, Mirror is better SF.

The Devil in the Dark - 1
Mirror, Mirror - 0

Opposite for me. I think Devil is Sci-Fi and Mirror is sheer fantasy.

The Devil in the Dark - 1
Mirror, Mirror - 1

The Devil in the Dark - 2
Mirror, Mirror - 1

Both are great episodes, but "Devil" suffers from the hokeyness of people getting killed on guard having plenty of time to fire but inexplicably not doing so. Kirk and Spock could have concentrated fire on a spot already hit by a killed guard.

"Mirror, Mirror" has its problems too, such as some arbitrariness with the application of the Tantalus field, but overall is utterly brilliant: what if "the Federation" took dilithium crystals by force. "Devil" is really brilliant too, with the monster that's not really a monster at all, but "Mirror"'s problems just don't bother me as much.

 C'mon, everyone knows silicone-based lifeforms can't exist...

The Devil in the Dark - 3
Mirror, Mirror - 1

The Devil in the Dark - 4
Mirror, Mirror - 1

Mirror, Mirror is my all-time favorite episode, so this is an easy choice.

MIRROR, MIRROR IS THE WINNAH!!!!! :techman:

I demand a recount!! ;)

Nearly any episode would have been a good choice. Hopefully we'll do this again someday after a "cooling off" period. :)

Your winner is Mirror, Mirror!
