This is a game that we play every two years, and it's generally a lot of fun, providing a chance to mentally revisit those episodes you may not have thought about in a while. With that in mind, why not play again?

So, here's the game. The basic idea is your standard elimination game. I'll provide a list of the episodes for each season and you need to eliminate your least favorite or the one you deem the 'worst.' Please provide an EXPLANATION for why you are eliminating your choice and be sure to copy and paste the list with your choice removed. Finally, leave at least 2 eliminations by other posters before you eliminate another episode.

[Bad Thoughts]

The Reckoning. A poorly conceived dragonslaying episode. It goes too far trying to portray the Prophets in terms of conventional narratives of myth. And in the end, I agreed with Winn's actions. It was a stupid confrontation, and Sisko should have intervened to save Jake and Kira. I actively despise this episode.

This one might be a controversial cut because it's not a bad episode: Honor Among Thieves
But it's more crime-thriller than SF and so dark it's hardly recognizable as Star Trek anymore in my opinion.

Who Mourns For Morn? Not me. I mean it was a nice fun episode, but nothing substantial. I think there were too many fluff pieces in the middle of the season.

The Sound of Her Voice. This might have made a good third season story. However, it is really two stories smashed together. I think the second half of season six really shows the absence of Robert Hewitt Wolfe.

Sons and Daughters. Easily the weakest part of the Dominion Invasion 6+1 (or 6+3, depending on how you look at it). Alexander's story doesn't make much sense. The Kira/Ziyal story makes even less sense given everything that Kira went through in the previous episode.

[Bad Thoughts]

Change of Heart. This episode is probably a gift to the Trek universer by finally giving some sense of love and marriage in the future. The bedtime rituals are precious, and how what man isn't looking to use the line, "I'd rather lose a bet on you ... ." That said, the episode has issues with pacing. Moreover, we don't feel Worf's change of heart in the same way that he describes it at the end.

I'll take Behind the Lines away, because Odo's betrayal storyline was ultimately resolved off-screen. Big mistake! I realise that happened in You Are Cordially Invited... but it hurt this episode on rewatch.

All these episodes are excellent - Inquisition is the only one I couldn't remember. That's enough grounds for dismissal in a season this strong.
