The Least Disliked Episode 2025 - PIC Season 3

So, here's the game. The basic idea is your standard elimination game. I'll provide a list of the episodes for each season and you need to eliminate your least favourite or the one you deem the 'worst.' Please provide an EXPLANATION for why you are eliminating your choice and be sure to copy and paste the list with your choice removed. Finally, leave at least 2 eliminations by other posters before you eliminate another episode.

No tactical voting! You cannot remove an episode just because you feel it would threaten your preferred episode's chance to win.
Pretty simple. Enjoy! :bolian:

The Last Generation can fuck right off for pissing on the whole franchise. The regression of the TNG cast to roles they advanced from decades ago, the disrespect to the Titan, making Enterprise a name you slap to any old ship instead of honouring their own deeds. Nepotism to unrealistic degrees. Disrespect to the previous seasons of the show and attempts to fit in done horrendously wrong like Raffi's granddaughter.

This is probably the worst season of the entire franchise.

Best season of the series, hands down. And best of the current serialized seasons... not even a contest. (Between 5 DISCO seasons and 3 PICARD ones, it was the ONLY one that was consistently AND stuck the landing. The franchise really needs to stay away from such severe serialization for their seasons with a record of 1 great, 2 good/decent, 2 meh, and 3 absolute disasters.)

Taking out "Vox".

While I LOVED seeing the Enterprise again, I HATED the Borg returning. They were already used for 2 seasons.

Wow, two of the top episodes, from one of Trek's top seasons (certainly the top season of all modern Trek), are first out!

I'll ax "Imposters." I must have been distracted for this to win the championship last time. It's the only episode from this season I only watched once. It's still VERY good, like everything this season, it's just the only segment that was lacking that "rewatch" power.

I'll cut off the top and tail and erase The Next Generation for crimes against continuity. It's very clear during the writing stage they intended for Riker's Titan to have for no real reason been a Constitution class ship and no one had the sense to modify the script so it doesnt seem like a disjointed mess.

I was pretty stunned, myself! Just goes to show, it’s a divisive season - it’s just, lots of us really like it. Certainly, to a degree in which the other two seasons’ fans probably do not rival. We’re outspoken to the point that the other half of TrekBBS likely finds it irritating, so I try to hold it in. :P

Anyway, goodbye, “Dominion”. The only episode I dislike is “Imposters”, and even then, only to a point; “Dominion” simply isn’t all that far ahead of it.

Aside from the finale, "The Bounty" is my next favorite episode of the season. It's flawless.

Truly, it's a near-perfect season of television. And I'm not sure the perfect season of television exists. This is as good as it gets!

There are few things I hate more than a showrunner who describes their season as "a long movie." (If your idea is a long movie, THEN MAKE A LONG MOVIE AND DO NOT MAKE A TV SHOW) When they started teasing this season as the final movie for the TNG crew, I got nervous.

But damn was I impressed with how perfectly it managed to be a long movie AND ALSO A TV SHOW. Forget just Star Trek, I'm not sure I've ever seen any other TV show manage that balance perfectly. Each piece of PIC S3 is a discrete episode. Each episode satisfies on its own, as TV should. Yet it also all adds up to an epic film.

Just a brilliant ten hours of work all around. So impressive. I also kept marveling over how smartly they spent the money. Early Discovery has that vibe of "how many millions can we burn on pointless bells & whistles?" It's like they're trying to waste money. But on PIC S3 every dollar is on screen.

One of the great ironies of the streaming Trek era is that it made this huge commitment to serialization, then almost exclusively hired writers who were aggressively incompetent at specifically serialization. Year after year, they kept doubling and tripling down on the very thing they were worst at, though they also kept making progress little by little. And then they finally reach Picard S3, and FINALLY get it right - EXACTLY as the streaming bubble bursts and the era ends. At least serialized live-action Trek went out on a high note!
