The Least Disliked Episode 2025 - LD Final Rounds

BlueStuff

Rear Admiral
Rear Admiral
Here we have the winners and runners-up of each season - and now, it's time for the final rounds.

*RULES*

Give what you consider to be the worst/your least favourite episode ONE point, and briefly explain WHY. Be sure to copy and paste the list with your point added. When an episode reaches 4 points, it is eliminated. Then a NEW round begins (in this thread) with the numbers restored to 0. Vote ONCE per round. If 48 hours without a vote passes, the episode currently leading in points will be eliminated, and a new round will begin. And enjoy! :bolian:

This may genuinely be the hardest Finals round to start voting on this year. These are ALL just great episodes.

I guess I'll vote for "Envoys" this round. Really only because it's the earliest produced one of the group. (And of the 3 or 4 episodes I might have voted for first.)

I thought that if I stared at the list long enough it would be easier, this was not the case. Originally this episodes relies heavily on the mysteries of Mariner, it is enhanced by later seasons revealing she's a little older than Boimler and a Dominion War veteran and everything but if we take out it's later contextualising Mariner was a bit all over the place in the early episodes. They're still fantastic and the rounds are only going to get harder.

"Crisis Point 2: Paradoxus" weakest here in my opinion. I think it compares poorly to the original "Crisis Point: The Rise of Vindicta". I really did not enjoy Boimler's (or should I say Bucephalus Dagger's?) plot about searching for Ki-ty-ha. Still, not an easy choice by any means.

Oh, gods - this is so difficult! I've run through all of them in my head, and although the guest stars are out of this world (Garashir!! T'Pol!!!) Fissure Quest gets a vote from me as it doesn't feature enough of the Warp Core Four

T'Lyn). It also feels incomplete as it really needs The New Next Generation to finish it off.

I wish I could line up behind something that already has votes, but the truth is "The Stars At Night" is my least favorite here. It is great, but it is a notably less satisfying finale than "No Small Parts" and "First First Contact." Part of the problem is what it's picking up - I can't totally buy the plot points that get Mariner off the ship the previous week, so following through on that is clunky.

My vote this round will be "Crisis Point 2: Paradoxus".

Still a good episode and a lot of fun, but the rest of the list is simply better.

I guess I can agree with that. The first "Crisis Point" is better than the sequel, so that's some criteria by which to say it's less-than.

These are all so good, though.

Absolutely everything about the Sulu moment in Paradoxus is beyond pure gold. From Sulu being even better than Kirk to "the horsey is going to bite you now" but it wasnt an episode about Sulu it was an episode about Boimler being way too upset about a transporter duplicate he knew for like 5 minutes and who took his dream job. And when one little scene is so much better than the purpose of the episode I guess that warrants a vote. And in this case, an elimination

Im not going to pick my next round vote just yet because I need more time to think about it.

I'll go back to "The Stars At Night." Not as good a finale as "No Small Parts" or "First First Contact", though it is of course great overall.

Voting for "The Stars at Night".

Actually, for the same reasons that Sakonna pointed out.

Another vote for Fissure Quest from me for the same reason as before, but also the incongruity of Lily's statement that they're exploring humanity instead of space & new life etc, but then why are they flying all over the place? Wouldn't they be closer to Earth (I suppose they could be exploring different human colonies and the like, but it still bugs me a bit).

The Stars At Night is probably the weakest episode left. As Season finales go, it's no First First Contact.

After weighing up the options I have decided to also go with The Stars at Night. Robot ships aren't very Starfleet and the California class is quite an old design even if the Cerritos itself is only 10 years old so it wouldn't be overly surprising for it to just be retired anyway.

In spite of some wonderful jokes and a hybrid send up of two classic episodes, Fully Dilated I think inches into being weaker than the others.

"Parth Ferengi's Heart Place", for a few minor details re: life on Ferenginar that just didn't strike me as plausible for that society.

This is so, so damn difficult.

All the remaining season finales are excellent, "wej Duj" is one of the best of the entire current era of the franchise, I can't vote against Data or DS9 related episodes at this time (my heart just can't do it), and Moopsi was just so damned cute and funny.

AAARRRGGGGHHHH!!!!! Damn you LOWER DECKS for being so frickin' awesome!!!!

Reluctantly, I vote for... "I Have No Bones Yet I Must Flee".

Moopsi is simply not quite as important to me as Data or DS9.
