That's the third time!

Oh wait, that's what the Romana said to the Doctor when they were put into a time loop trap by Meglos. Uh-oh, was C&E's use of "three" like one of them hipster suave easter eggy in-jokey thingies? Uh-oh, is C&E an even more esoteric one to the CVE that the Doctor and Romana were flung into by accident, one of many that the Logopolitans litter around the galaxy to allow heat to escape and prevent "heat death of the universe"? (It's a really cool idea!) Now if stuff like that got people into careers as physicists and/or computer scientists back then in the way characters like Scotty and Dr McCoy in Star Trek got folk to become engineers and physicians, and so on... and that's my long-winded blabbleblop as to why "Cause and Effect" gets my vote again. Same reason, different phraseology.

"Cause and Effect" has what is almost certainly the single best teaser in the entire franchise -- and I only say "almost" because I haven't seen every episode in the entire franchise; it's the best of those I have seen. But while the plot is well developed, I don't ever remember finding the episode emotionally engaging.
