The least disliked episode 2021 - DS9 Season One

Well, elimination depends on the decision of one person.

Nine out of ten people could love it and one hate it and that would be enough.

Yes, but the great episodes of TNG usually make it far regardless; Yesterday's Enterprise; BOBW; Measure of a Man etc. The one there that normally gets the chop surprisingly early is The Inner Light.

But Duet is just SO good that it's really shocking for it to be kicked so soon as in previous games. It's probably a top-5 episode of the show.

Had the opportunity arose, my next nosepick would have been Babel: It's is a partial anagram of Babble, which is something I enjoy doing in the same way some watch sports or go to brothels and/or have covid parties. And it's true some viruses can play hopscotch across multiple species. The aphasia is an interesting twist as well, definitely makes for a good bit of sci-fi. Almost better than "Duet" since it's closer to sci-fi than war stories, but...

..."Duet" is still the strongest bar none. It's amazing how often it's konked out. The twists and turns are well within DS9's themes as well as surprising with the added twists - it's so well-handled. The acting, from all, elevates it but to be a fly on the wall of the casting room would still be moot. The guest cast clearly are so strong... and war stories, or any genre, aren't bad just because they exist. Everyone still has their likes and dislikes. The blending, I'll concede, still makes for the best...

And now, I'm going to eat a bucket of ice cream for brunch. Mint choc n' sausage ice cream. Yum.

I never liked Duet much, but its technical excellence was unquestionable. Besides, the episode I wanted to hammer was eliminated very quickly.

Plus there are scenes that don't make a lot of sense like why is Jadzia seeing a nice summer-like green landscape while Sisko is seeing some hellish place? That's never explained.

I just watched it and I saw it as a projection of their inner feelings at the time.

Duet’s one of my favorites now but when I first saw it the ending kinda rubbed me the wrong way cause at the time it didn’t fit my idea of a Star Trek ending.

Sure but a lot of people consider The Visitor to be one of the top 5 episodes too and I can already tell you that I'm going to kill that episode the first chance I get because I hate it with a passion (fans of that episode should hope I'm busy that day:rommie:)

I think DS9 is generally a bit more controversial so it makes sense that even great episodes that are loved by most have a few people that really don't like them at all.
This is also why I prefer the DS9 part of this game because it is more unpredictable, TNG often feels like we're actually picking the most liked episode of the series although that isn't really the point of this game and it is structured to allow for easy eliminations of all episodes.

Hence the game title: LEAST DISLIKED, rather than most loved.

I actually considered nailing "Duet", since I didn't really like it much (personal taste). But it wasn't my least favorite.

Hmm... when do you usually go to sleep? :D

Never.

There are two episodes in that season I like less than The Visitor so depending on what other people vote I might only kill The Visitor the third chance I get but those episodes aren't exactly fan favorites and I expect them to be out early.

I think the point is made. What you get is the least disliked episode and that's not except by accident the most liked, which is why in this instance "The Visitor" probably won't make it to the end.
