The least disliked character of DS9

I liked Eddington. I wish they'd come up with the idea of making him a Maquis sooner.

I'm actually quite astonished at Shran's reasoning behind eliminating Bashir. He didn't strike me as an arrogant jerk by the end, at all--just the opposite!

(And for Ezri's arc taking over Season 7...ah, Worf's arcs took over a third of the show, since he came on!)

I liked Bashir, and he was less arrogant a character than in the beginning. But he was still a bit preachy at the end of DS9s run.

I don't really agree with Quark winning though. He was a good character, but not the best.

That's what I meant to say. Calling him a self-righteous jerk is indeed too strong. His preachiness (especially in his dealings with Section 31) really grated on me.

Now don't get me wrong - I do really like the character. It's just that I do actually like all the characters who were remaining at that point more. In fact, my annoyance at him probably didn't even start until Extreme Measures.

And, of course, I could mention again that I would have rather Ezri ended up with Quark instead of Bashir.

To be perfectly honest...I think Jadzia would've been a better match for Quark than Ezri would. She's more of his type.

Ezri's too "clean" for him. I think any relationship between her and Quark would've ended up like Travis Bickle and Betsy (SEE: Taxi Driver)--Quark, while charming, has tastes which would eventually come across to her as repulsive.

Not nearly the resut I was expecting. But of course, it really doesn't mean anything when only one person's preference can eliminate a character entirely.

I would have expected one of the usual suspects to win - Garak or Miles O'Brien.

Ah, think nothing of it. I harbored few illusions that she'd be the last one standing. And I always welcome difference of opinion--provided it's honest, and civil.

If I look at the possible relationship more closely, that makes sense. Maybe it's just that I see so much more of myself in Quark than I do in Bashir and it's my way of living the dream.
