As much as I've become grudgingly amused by the antics of Mr. Wint and Mr. Kidd as years have passed, that bit definitely deserved to be cut.

Holy shit

I can't decide if this is a "good" thing or a "bad" thing...Amazon does have some dough and experience, in general, but...

Will there be a trademark "smile" in the opening credits...subtle background Amazon delivery trucks and uniforms...things of this nature?...

I think we’re going to see a 007 expanded universe. Looks like Barbara didn’t have the heart to fight them. And @Starkers called it right some time ago when he said that he felt that they just didn’t seem to be bothered anymore (or something along those lines).

The end of a long and unique cinematic era (or eon, if you will). I didn't agree with some of Broccoli and Wilson's creative choices for the franchise in recent years, but at least the series was still guided by creatives with a personal commitment and their own vision. This will be Bond movies as pure corporate product, under the soulless shell that is Jeff Bezos. I'm sure he'll do the same great job he's been doing with the Washington Post. Maybe we can even get a Trump cameo in the next Bond movie.

Given Amazon’s success with so-called Dad tv (I think that’s the expression) such as Bosch, Jack Ryan, Reacher, etc, it’s hard not to expect a Bond tv show of some sort now, whether instead of or adjacent to the films.

Wow. It IS the end of an era.

But I kind of feel that through the travails of the Craig era that the era ended a while back.

Anything to come next might be different. Different isn't always good, but when the same isn't working then there is at least a chance.
