The James Bond Film Discussion Thread (With Bonus Lazenby!)

I think it's not 009, but rather 003.

As I've recently seen Eternity and Wuthering Heights I thought I'd give my thoughts on two of the (supposed) leading candidates. Obviously for all I know neither is in the running.

Calum Turner is ok, I don't quite see him as 007. the ears are very distracting! Then again Daniel wasn't the most conventionally handsome actor to play Bond and he worked out just fine.

Jacob Elordi on the other hand...damn I can so see it. I wasn't super sold on WH but he's very good in it. He's very brooding and intense, and at times I got a real Lazenby vibe from him in terms of how he looks. He's maybe a smidgen too young but by the time he played the part he'd likely be a few years older.

I just can't buy Elordi, but could buy Turner in the same way as Patrick Gibson. I could even buy Amazon pulling a nod and wink and casting Riz Ahmed

Sometimes you struggle to see beyond a role you have seen them in. Elordi is a jerk in Euphoria and that's all I've really seen him in that i recall.

The other person mentioned is Theo James, and I've seen a few things I enjoyed but I struggle to get the image of him with shit round his nose out of my head from the inbetweeners movie.

Imagine how messy things would have gotten with the OG plan for GoldenEye, how would the Trevelyan M have fitted into the M narrative lol

Bill Tanner does become a lot less grating and overbearing by Pierce's movies. Between 1981 and 1997 he becomes, oh, what's the word? Tolerable!

*James Bond before he regenerates*

"I hope the ears are less inconspicuous"
