The Incredible Hulk TV series appreciation thread

As for vinyl, I don't miss it, and I'm not joining in with hipsters who are now collecting records, either; my place is too small to store all of that stuff.

I don't miss vinyl because I still have it. It's only special occasion listening now. Almost all of my listening is of digital files these days. But it's there and I try to get my hands on any new release that comes available in that format. I was collecting LPs long before the hipsters. I have over 30,000 of them along with 45's and even 78's.

Back on topic.

This show was must see TV for me when it was on.
I'll still watch & enjoy it when a channel starts running it.
I'm not sure how much of that enjoyment is simply nostalgia though.

I used to love this as a kid. The Death of the Incredible Hulk killed me.

I purchased the pilot, the best of set and the TV movies on DVD way long ago when they first came out. EXCEPT for Death of the Incredible Hulk.

That never happened as far as I'm concerned. ;)

When was the last time it was on? Didn't Syfy show before either The Incredible Hulk, or Avengers were released?

The first three seasons and a bit are on Hulu Plus. They aren't listed in proper order, though, with some episodes being attributed to the wrong seasons.

Prometheus and The First are still my favorite stories. Prometheus is a pretty expensive looking two parter, using oddly enough the same location that was used in Goliath the second season open of Knight Rider. I liked the half Hulk idea in Prometheus and the general comic bookish feel to both of the stories. I loved it when the Hulk got free and started tearing up Prometheus. Banner's Hulk takes a backseat though in The First, but when is he onscreen he's pretty effectively used.

I can't believe I never noticed that. Looks like the also have another superhero show I've never seen, The Greatest American Hero.

"The First". Truly awesome, except the ending was a little bit of a let-down.

At the time it originally aired, I remember thinking "finally!" because up to that time, no other super-powered person ever appeared on the show. Banner's teary-eyed anguish at Frye's creature angrily shattering the syringe (with the cure) was a powerful moment--Banner losing again.

IIRC, there were actually some discussions about the possibility of a Hulk/Spider-Man crossover while the two shows were both on the air. But Spidey got cancelled, which put paid to that idea.

The idea resurfaced during the period of the Hulk reunion movies, with the intention of bringing Nicholas Hammond back, but Bixby passed away which brought a sad end to the idea.

Bixby and Hammond played their roles with such mature honesty, that a crossover would have been interesting with Banner & Parker as much as the alter-egos.

I signed up for Netflix to watch Daredevil, and discovered that they have TIH. Looks like I'll be revisiting it again after all....
