She looks hot...as always.
To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of Evangeline Lilly's character on Lost, but I know how to separate my feelings between actor and character. I think Tauriel looks good, and I'm interested to see how they fit her into the story.

The studio doesn't have the rights to the Middle Earth-verse, only to the Hobbit and LotR books. After the third Hobbit comes out, unless the suits decide to remake LotR, and they won't, that'll be it, kaput. Hence the sudden serious interest in Warcraft and D&D movies...

I didn't expect to see "so much" of Smaug in the first trailer, instead I figured we only see a very brief glimpse of his head like we did at the end of The Desolation of Smaug. Nonetheless, he looks fantastic!
Also, I can already tell I'm going to have a hard time looking at Tauriel and not be reminded of Kate from Lost. I'm immediately thought "Shut up, Kate" after Tauriel tells Legalos "It is our fight." Granted, that's not Evangeline Lily's fault, but rather my huge disdain for Kate.

I've never seen Evangeline Lily in anything, so I have no preconception about her or her character.

dragon looks fake
It is, indeed, a fake dragon.
That looks great! I was kinda surprised to see so much of Legolas, I figured he'd just have a bit role. But it looks like he's going to be fairly prominent in at least this chapter of the story. Looks like lots of elves in action, which should be fun to watch.

I wasn't expecting Orlando Bloom to be playing two characters in the movie. Legolas and the guy who said, "if you wake the dragon." Oh well, guess they are trying to get their moneys worth. Like how John Rhys Davies was both Gimli and Tree Beard.
Except that's not Orlando Bloom, rather it's Luke Evans who plays Bard the Bowman.
