*~*~The Great J/C Thread~*~*

I love J/C overall!
So I am very sad about the fact, that Janeway died in the Next Generation novel.
Kirsten Beyer did a very very great job in writing the Happy End for Janeway and Chakotay in her book Full Circle! But it ended before it starts!
I also love her story "Isabo´s Shirt".
I think, there are many Janeway Fans all over the world! I can speak for some German friends... we love Janeway! Please, for my heartbreak: Bring her back!
Pocket Books should hire Jeri Taylor AND Kiresten Beyer for writing a new novel after "Unworthy" in which our beloved couple Janeway/Chakotay can come back and have a Happy End for their lives and our souls!

Real life and other interests have taken me away from J/Cdom during the past weeks, but today I revisited briefly in the fandom again as I fiddled the following picture. :)

Wow I love that Brit. I'm not really into fiddles (sorry fiddlers all, no offence intended I think you're all really clever it just doesn't rock my boat!) but I luuurrrrrvveeee hand drawings, especially black and white like that, it's gorgeous.

Hello, hope it's ok for me to tell this, but have recently wrote an fan fic "sequel" to Unworthy, mostly for myself, but it does have a happy (if sappy) J/C ending (or a beginning, hopefully). This is my first fic in many years (was inspired by the other fic writers), but I wrote it as therapy for the last 2 Voy books. Now, am not the greatest writer, of course, but a few people have said they liked it. Anyway, it's called "A New Life" and if anyone's interested, let me know, thanks. GS. PS, if someone has read it & thinks it's not great, very sorry (but just wanted to contribute to Janeway Lives)!

I wish they would have gone ahead with the original idea of having Chakotay be Janeway's lover on Quarra. They knew the show was winding down and this repercussions from this would have been a nice character arc for them for the rest of the season. Also, it would have resolved things one way or the other and made them coming together at the end more plausible OR made it possible for them to move on to others (not Seven though, she has some growing to do before entering a serious relationship, imo) without the fans going WTF.

Just my two cents...

*headdesk* no way really. Damn it really irritates me to hear these things, so many possibilities wasted. That would have been so amazing to see and I agree with that person who posted about the chemistry in this episode, it just dripped with J/C ness.

That must have been my comment earlier then. :D It did sizzle didn't it?

Is there an excerpt for this? I would love to read it.

That would have been so GREAT!!!

Can't think about these wasted chances *grrrrr*. The end of Voy was disappointing!
Do you know what Kate said about Endgame in Blackpool?

[QUOTE
from
http://www.totallykate.com/blpool/blsatran.html
Question: Were you happy with how Endgame was written and how the story lines were tied up and would you change anything?

Kate Mulgrew: I loved Endgame and I particularly loved the ending. (shouts of NO from the audience as it has not yet aired in the UK) Do I look stupid to you? (applause) Maybe after seven years of exercising such power Rick Berman thought to himself I'm going to throw this broad a crumb and he gave me carte- blanche with Endgame. I got to choose the other Janeway. Was it provocative enough? I had a complete hand in the writing and I helped to form the ending and I believe that the ending defined, for my taste, the essence of what Voyager was all about; you won't be disappointed. This JC drawing of my own is dedicated to my special angel (she knows it LOL!), who inspired me to draw JC and helps me very much to translate my fanfic!
Fortunately, pics don't need a translation!
Like it should have been: We Have Waited Long Enough

I will come down as one who wouldn't have minded seeing those two become a couple, rank and all that notwithstanding. 'Resolutions' is one of my all-time favorite STV eps....Still, Kate and Robert made much of the relationship their characters were permitted to have-a deep, abiding friendship, and implicit trust-to the point Future-Kath is willing to say hang the Temporal Prime Directive, and I will do what I must to save he and Seven,,and get my crew home, at a better time...an act worthy of a Jim Kirk. As for the novels-please!!!Kill Kathryn? NO WAY. Not for this Janeway fan. She was, and is, the heart, and soul for the Voyager crew, the touchstone for all their Journey was. Perhaps it's interesting to a professional writer to do so-but no matter. Won't fly for a lot of us STV fans...I can't see any feeling that's truly a good thing....

I wrote three letters to TPTB of Pocket Books in 2009 already. Voyager without Janeway isn't Voyager anymore and there is no need (in the books) and no chance (in our hearts) for replacing her and the old crewmembers by pale characters made by a writer.

=^=
I have to edit the link to my other drawing We Have Waited Long Enough:

Yesterday I drew a little bit once again.

But at least we have the Janeway Lives ff campaign, which Kathryn J. and others have contributed to; since I won't read another Trek lit. book (yes am only one person, but have to do something) unless they bring back KJ, the fics where Kathryn is back (or never even left) are what my "universe" is now, thank goodness for that, thanks all!

Kudos to you, Kathryn J.! And I understand the sentiment, Galekarens....myself, I don't see buying more STV novels...in part, I haven't bought one of any stripe in a bit-not since the last Enterprise offering, planning for 'Raptor's Wing' later, I digress, but, it's down to just those, now. I was at Barnes and Noble while buying the ST soundtrack, and thumbed a copy of 'Full Circle' to see 'Kotay grieving Kath, and etc....now, were it a matter of her assured return, yes, I'd get it!-That would make for good dramatic reading, and an expose of his deep feelings for her...hey, guys can appreciate a good romantic thing-just not purely romance novel...but, to be it the aftermath of a tradgedy with no hope after...no way. But, I thought I'd read somewhere that a door was left open in her essence remaining, or somesuch...still, it'd not replace her physical self...Maybe it's time for Chakotay to do a 'Future-Kathryn' and say stuff the Temporal PD, and do what has to be done! I wonder how Kate feels about her character being excised from Voyager!...Now, if some Voyager fans keep buying the books because of he or Seven, I could see that. Me, it's, ahem, 'Insufficient'...as is a Voyager without Tom, Harry, and Lanna...Heck, the novel-relaunch of DS9 has Kira, Jake, and I assume Julian and Ezri, and others in them,if mixed with new characters...it'll never be STV to me either without them.

I bought FC because I was curious about KJ's death and if there will be a little hope for her come back. But I was deeply disappointed. It made me sick to see how much Chak had to suffer.
But if KJ's won't return it will be the last Voy book I bought.
I fully agree with you who are saying that Voy without the old crew isn't Voy anymore. I don't understand why didn't they launch a new series of novels like TITAN with new characters playing in the DQ.
Recently (in Germany) started a new TNG novel series with a romantic relationship between Picard and Crusher. Why wasn't it possible for JC in the same way???
The old Picard (born in 2305!) is over 75 years old and still alive, and KJ had to die being only 45 years old! Can't think about that! It makes me cry!
I think, there are many chances to bring KJ back, because she is saved by the Q. Time travel isn't necessary at all... but is a possibility...
I collected the stories of the VAMB Janeway Lives Story Challenge on my site http://kathrynjonvoy.oyla.de/cgi-bin/hpm_homepage.cgi
I wonder how Kate feels about her character being excised from Voyager!
I saw an interview a Wikipedia guy had with Kate and showed her the Janeway site on Wikipedia. Kate quickly read it and asked with surprise: "What...I'm dead?" and then she laughed and this thing was done for her. I think, that she isn't bothered by Janeway's death. She has new exciting projects to do.
