Problem is I can't see there being a film set in the TNG-era now that we have XI.
I'm with you on this one.
To be honest I don't feel too upset about that. I think the way they write Trek has changed, it's generally darker, so there's a good chance they'd either kill Janeway off officially, or someone else. I prefer things left to the imagination now - at least with the books we have our 'it's not canon' argument!
On the other hand they seem to grab the bull by the horns and deal with issues now, eg they officially married Troi and Riker - maybe if we'd had a film we'd've got our official J/C? Who knows?

I quite liked Star Trek XI, and I like the way it's in an alternate universe so if any point I decide I hate it, if they kill them all off in the next one, I'll just stop watching and it won't affect my enjoyment of my Voyager and TNG dvds. In my head it's separate.
