Richard is Jason's father in every sense that matters. Superman would be a selfish bastard indeed if he swooped in and took Jason from the only family he has known. I've worked with adoptive families for years, as well as being an adoptee myself, and I've seen too many children hurt immeasurably when selfish biological fathers who've had nothing to do with their children (and are unknown to them) all of a sudden decide they now want to be daddy. And yes, I include bio-fathers who find out they have children years after the fact and still decide to decimate their child's life by uprooting them from the only family they've known. It takes a real man to put his child's best interest above his own, and let his child grow up healthy in his established family. Do you think the Jor-El A.I should have taken Clark away from the Kents as a child? Of course not. If Richard and Lois were my clients, I'd advise them to be open with Jason about his background, but gradually as his maturity increased. Through this, though, all the while assuring Jason that they ARE his parents, and that they'll always love him and be there for him.

Of course they do. And man is the guy talented. But there's no harm in poking fun at the guy's clear lack of communication skills. I, at least, do it in a loving manner.
Don't necessarily think it's a lack of communication skills, in the BTS videos for returns he seemed perfectly coherent. Other times when someone else is dictating the conversation though he does flounder.
His statements would seem to indicate that he's on board in some capacity.
EDIT: Superman did for Jason exactly what Jor El and Lara did for him.
