The knowledge of Kirk-Fu is a deadly weapon.
Kirk had that magical ability to knock someone out with either one punch or a tiny karate chop to the shoulder. I guess it was the "human" equivalent of the Vulcan neck pinch.
McCoy has also been studying Kirk-Fu....
I'll bet he could still leap from one wall onto us and get up first too!

In my head I came up with the idea that the "Arena" Gorn was male. Male Gorns are larger and slower than females. In any future live-action Trek I'd have had a female Gorn. She could move more dynamically and might eve be more affordable on the wardrobe/FX budget.
Again, that was my head canon.
Then Enterprise does a CGI Gorn. He's big, he can move. He was probably as costly as an actor and had much less screen time.

I remember someone on TrekMovie commenting that there had been a pilot that never got picked up and it had William Windom fighting someone in the Gorn suit. I have no idea what the pilot was called and I assume it was never picked up so I'm afraid I don't know where to look for it.
Very interesting if true...
