The Global Football Thread

Also Spurs sign De Zerbi!

I mean setting aside all the Greenwood stuff for a moment, he isn't a guy who makes an immediate impact, and giving a guy who rarely stays anywhere more than two years a 5 year deal reeks of desperation. I can't imagine there isn't come kind of get out for him and them if Spurs are relegated.

Italy have not played in a World Cup knockout match since the creation of the iPhone in January 2007.

I'll change my mind when the WC comes around I'm sure but right now I just don't care about international football.

I'm sure it's a common opinion but club always trumps country for me.
Im the same although Ive got less interested over the years as qualification is so less of a challenge than it used to be. I used to watch qualifiers but not any more. As you say when the WC is here ill be far more into it.

its crazy how italy is out of the fifa world cup for the 3rd time

imagine if that also happened to the top countries like brazil england and argentina

No interest in international football either but I’m anticipating a genuine clusterfuck at the World Cup.Not in a gleeful way because those in charge won’t suffer only the little people (fans)…as usual.☹️

DeZerbi..?not an inspiring choice but hopefully he can lead Spurs into an early relegation..👍🤞⚒️

The J League is experimenting with a new point system for a draw. If a games ends in a draw, there shall be a penalty shootout.

The winner of the penalty shootout gets two points while the loser gets one point.

Basically three points are still awarded in total just like how three points are awarded to winners of games won in normal regulation time

For anyone in the states following the US Open Cup, Round of 32 is starting where the MLS teams start to really roll up the DIV 2, DIV 3 and any semi-pros somehow still in the mix. My home team will be playing Atlanta United at home in on the 15th. We're hoping for a record turnout. Coming off two good wins, including tonights (Just got back from the stadium).

I mean I know we don't actually have much of a chance, but it would be awesome.

Arsenal——one bottle after another.
I’ll eat my hat if they somehow conspire to fluff this.

Hammers out of the bottom three…holy moley but this is gonna be tight.

I have no great fondness for Arsenal but I would rather they win the title than City. Can't believe I'm saying this but hope Chelsea can dent city today.

I still think Arsenal will stumble over the line but it's going to be tight, especially now Haaland seems to have found his shooting boots.

Of all the bottom teams West Ham have momentum. I increasing wonder if it isn't going to be Leeds who wind up in that third spot.

As Derby fans you would think you'd want Forest to go down but I would genuinely rather see Leeds go.

I also think Leeds are less likely to be a shoe in for automatic promotion than any of the others.
