In Memoriam
I have been watching the show and enjoying it somewhat. Only one thing bothers me. Where the hell in Florida is this show supposed to take place? In one episode they seem to be close to Miami, in another Sebastion Inlet, in a third they mention being 70 miles from St. Pete!?!

In tonight's episode we can even see a map of Tampa bay in the background at one point.

Someone needs to add a map of Florida to the writer's bible for the show. The state is not small enough to reach these different locations in under 2 - 3 hours minimum and they treat them like it's one small town.

Show was recommended to me by a co-worker. Decent show, sort-of getting into it even though I'm a couple episodes behind on the DVR. Interesting show will stick with it.

As for the geographical problems? All I can do is shrug and say, "Whadda you gonna do?"

Tonight's episode was the only one I've seen, and I was so bored! My roommate was watching it, otherwise I would have changed the channel. It just seemed like another cop show with another smart yet sassy male lead. I'm just getting really tired of that formula.

I was going to check it out but the lead actor's voice annoys me. I'd rather watch Jason Lee in Memphis Beat for a southern tinged cop show. His voice doesn't grate on my ears.

I like the show. It's somewhat cookie-cutter as far as cop shows go, but I like the characters and the acting. It is far more interesting than the above mentioned Memphis Beat imo. One thing that bothers me a bit is the cop's relationship with that woman (I'm not good at remembering names ;)) - it seems a little strained at times that she's involved in every one of his cases basically, but I like her too, so whatever.

She is only involved in his cases, peripherally most of the time, because he keeps making up excuses to see her and "get her help." I'm just waiting for the episode where her husband gets out of jail and is later found dead, with the detective in the picture as prime suspect. It's happened in every cop show with that dynamic.

I watch the show because it's slightly more quirky than the others with hints of comedy.

I'm enjoying the show so far.. I like the smart-assedness of the lead..

To address the OP's question about location, the lead is an investigator for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, basically the "state police", so the locations can vary widely thanks to statewide jurisdiction.

^Yea, I get that part, but they treat the state like every location is a 5 minute drive away. It would be like a cop show in L.A. where the cops decide to do lunch in San Fransisco.

Oh, just remembered, the episode with the astronaut. Do you know how long a drive it is from south Florida to Cape Canaveral?

It is actually one of the better cop shows out now and I watched an episode or two but I just can't get into these shows nowadays like I once did. Years ago I'd binge on them but after being exposed to far more dynamic and ambitious tv shows I find my attention wandering.

Gah! they just did it again!. They go from Cassadaga (North of Orlando) for the scene of the crime to Homestead (south of Miami) to interview a suspect on the same day. That's a 5 to 6 hour drive! Florida is not a small town.

I understand how that could be annoying for a local, but honestly, non-locals don't give a shit about things like that.

Had a couple of episodes on yesterday while I was doing something else. The lead character really is a smart ass, and not in a good way. I find him annoying. He has a little too much of a "gotcha!" attitude with the people he's questioning.

Saw the episode with the Ph.D. woman. She was easy on the eyes.

Yea they're squashing all 300miles of Central Florida from Ocala down to Miami into a 20-square-mile convenient locale, but its not a bad show.

We're getting a chuckle recognizing a lot of the places not far from us.
