The Galactically Hot Woman Of TOS

Maybe it's only because I grew up then, but I've always thought the sixties look makes any woman look hotter. The closing credits of Austin Powers with Liz Hurley in 60s hair and makeup? I almost died.

Sherry Jackson(Andrea), Dr. Helen Noel, Droxine and Marlena Moreau are still the hottest women in TOS, hands down.

My personal favorites (in no particular order) Marianna Hill (Helen Noel), Phyllis Douglas (Yeoman Mears) and Susan Oliver (Vina) -- and since there were three Susan Oliver pics at the end, I liked the second to last (with combed hair and the pretty dress)

Missing from that list is another of my personal favorites -- Andrea Dromm (Yeoman Smith) from 'WNMHGB'...she's the one Kirk called Yeoman Jones.

I'd put Vina in my Top 10. Not five...but definitely one of the ten sexiest in those eighty classic episodes.

Thank you for that. Star Trek really lost something, IMHO, when it stopped looking upon women as sex symbols.

I'm sitting here watching Spock's Brain on t.v. and I thought the very same thing when the alien girl shows up in her mini-skirt and thigh-highs. Alas, what we've traded for a miserable bowl of social pretense!

The wife and I watched "The Enterprise Incident" the other night. She thought it was a great episode but burst out laughing at the Romulan Commander's miniskirt and go-go boots. Especially the scene where she leaves the room tugging at the back of her skirt; Mrs. Hambone said "Does she even know her ass is hanging out?!!"

I just smiled and reminded myself of why I like Star Trek so much.

People keep saying "go-go boots" whenever women wear boots. No one ever wears boots except to dance in cages? You can go to the mall and buy boots now. Everyone in Star Fleet wears black boots by the way, men and women. It's the best all-around practical footwear if you never know what you're going to have to be walking through in the next five minutes. Maybe Romulan pumps, instead?

Unnamed Romulan Commander does a great job of appearing masterful despite the mini-skirt. Anyway, that's one of the best-designed costumes ever. For once there's detail in a costume. Anyway, too bad mini-skirts happened to be a current style then; otherwise, no one has any business complaining. ST has never really scratched the surface of all the different clothing (etc) aesthetics true aliens might have... they probably weon't even look remotely human, but if they do, there's no reason they wouldn't necessarily go around with unexpected areas covered or uncovered. I could easily see some species being shocked that we reveal such an intimate area as our faces, uncovered.

She looks incredible.

I remember that now. That's when they're listening to Kirk rant, isn't it? Usually mini-skirts are corny to me, but they had a few that were dangerously on the edge... and at that point I think I thought once, if it's that short in front, in the back it must be.... Yes, I'm really proud of myself. That must have been the main acting problem at that moment: coming across as dangerous and in command, while wearing a dress so short that you keep coming out of it, and you have to keep tugging it down in the front, then the back, then oops, the front again..... and she did it!

And to think the Romulans got so anal in subsequent generations, that they padded their shoulders to the point where they looked as if they never relaxed once, in their lives....

The Orion from "The Cage" (Susan Oliver maybe???) is my all-time favorite "Trek Babe". That includes ALL the series.

HUBBA HUBBA! ;)

Here is an interesting thought. If Vina as the Orion from "The Cage" is the hottest babe in Star Trek, all series, and I am inclined to agree, then we already saw the hottest babe before the series got off the ground!!

Regards

I find Susan Oliver breathtaking in her everyday human look, but oddly, not so much so in green.

The women on TOS were incredibly beautiful, weren't they? My favourite is the Romulan Commander. I think she should have been in more episodes, as Spock's love interest (those blonde girls are SO not right for Spock!)

It always makes me laugh that women in TOS (apart from Uhura) always get shown in soft focus though! Like those photographers you can go to for vanity shots.

I just watched "Shore Leave" (remastered) and was struck by two things: Yeoman Barrows is very hot, and she also has something of a 'Diana Rigg' vibe about her - never a bad thing!

EDIT: I also find it interesting that the other female officer, credited as "Angela," is the same actress who, in the immediately preceding episode "Balance of Terror," was set to wed, and yet here, she's all over Rodriguez! I guess she wasn't that attached to Tomlinson ... (of course, in production order, they were 009 and 016, so maybe she had time to get over him and move on ... ;))

I think I got it a bit confused - thought that she was about to marry Rodrigues in Shore Leave ... need to watch again...

Yeoman Barrows is indeed gorgeous. Better than the feather girls.

Ever notice the doctor knows all the best bars in the galaxy? The ones with women, that is.

They started doing that with Mudd's women it worked so well it became a standard in TOS
