The frontpage for ST day 2023 at startrek.com does not have Kirk nor Spock in the banner

As Pictured:

DISCO = 2
PIC = 2
SNW = 1
LD = 1
TOS = 1
DS9 = 1
VOY = 1
TNG = 0
ENT = 0
PRO = 0
---------------
But I'd prefer to count thusly:
DISCO = 2. Burnham & Georgiou
PIC = 2. Old Picard & human Seven.
VOY = 2. Janeway & Seven
SNW = 2. Pike & Uhura (though it is Nichelle)
TOS = 1. Nichelle's Uhura.
TNG = 1. Picard (though it is PIC Picard)
DS9 = 1. Sisko.
LD = 1. Mariner.
ENT & PRO = 0.

I count it like this:

DS9 = 6. Sisko, Picard (seen in Emissary), Janeway (visits DS9 in Caretaker), Pike (Ross gives SIsko the Pike medal of valor), Mariner (was stationed on DS9 at one point), Uhura (seen in Trials and Trbble-ations). ;)

That's why they needed Spock. Just think about it.

Spock in TOS,TAS,Strange New Worlds, TNG,DS9(Trials and Tribble-ations), referenced on Voyager,Lower Decks,Discovery,Prodigy(the simulation that brought back old holograms of characters) TOS movies,Abrams movies, referenced in TNG movies, Short Treks and Very Short Treks. Strangely the only shows missing completely is Enterprise and The Orville as official Canon Trek shows.

I know. It's a add. They literally could have tossed any Trek stuff up their if they wanted. Like all the lead ships plus station in DS9. Their is no real 100% wrong way or right way to do it, but of course this mean their is plenty of alternative possibilities to consider as a improvement based on personal tastes. Though it's best to not take that kind of theorizing to serious as to get worked up over it because they didn' do it the way you might have done.

Exactly. It's just a decorative banner, not a permanent exhibit at the Smithsonian. :)

I love TAS, but sadly it's the ginger step-child that even parts of fandom like to pretend didn't happen.
Which really wasn't a thing until TNG. Maybe part of its exclusion was Roddenberry and Paramount and part of its inclusion was that we didn't have enough Star Trek to say we were getting rid of any of it.

Tell that to Very Short Treks, happening now (although the online reaction would seem to indicate people have forgotten how amazingly daft TAS was)
I'm sure part of it is that I've lived with TAS so long that is just Star Trek. And there are certainly some "goofy" ones. But are The Majiks of Megas Tu or The Survivor really any goofier than episodes of TOS?

Absolutely astounds me that so many people are shocked to see that something that intentionally mimics TAS dares to be comedic.
I would love it if they were comedic.
