Spoilers The Flash - Season 3

Sorry but "Stupid" just isn't the word you should use to express that dislike. And blanket judgments and statements are never a good idea.

When the blanket statement is about what I think about certain subjects, then they are a good idea. I know what I think about things, its not like I only dislike some musicals or plays. I dislike all plays and 99.999999999999% of musicals, so I think a blanket statement about my opinion is fine. As for using "stupid", that's what I think about plays/musicals. I can't think of any more appropriate term, so to use another term would be lying

It reflects poorly on you and your opinion, that the best way you can articulate it, is with such a vapid and meaningless phrase.

I'd probably simply go with "it's not to my taste".

Now as for musicals, I think I've seen maybe three (two by Whedon) and heard tracks from one more (not including any of the disney ones). I've not seen Glee, Smash(?) or Hamilton. If the story seems interesting, I'll check it out. I not, then probably not so much.

I am curious and optimistic about them doing it in SG/Flash and hopefully it works. If it doesn't, it's a couple of episodes out of a couple of series I otherwise really enjoy.

You can't just say "They aren't my cup of tea" and come off looking like an adult?

 I just think they're stupid (and, again, don't fit the Flashverse). I'm not saying that's an objective opinion, but its mine. I might say "Its not my cup of tea" if someone asked me about plays/musicals in another context (just to not start an argument). But, in the context of The Flash tv show, "stupid" describes my thoughts on the matter.

Its meaning is pretty simple, and I think its a great way to articulate my feelings on musicals/plays, especially in this context. When in doubt about a word, there is always dictionary.com:

http://www.dictionary.com/browse/stupid

3.
tediously dull, especially due to lack of meaning or sense; inane; pointless:

4.
annoying or irritating; troublesome[/quot]

That fits my feelings on the subject perfectly. For the millionth time, I'm only talking about my opinion, not making an objective comment on the quality of the genres/styles (outside of whether or not a musical fits The Flash tv show).

Quoting the dictionary doesn't make your use of the word any less vapid and meaningless. Nor does falling back on the triteness of "it's just my opinion".

But you don't state it as you're opinion, you're stating it as objective fact.

But you don't state it as you're opinion, you're stating it as objective fact.
And as if the opinion is generally accepted by a majority and the rest of us is in the wrong.
Be that as it may.
More often than not my own opinion is the complete opposite of Kirk5's.
So I've come to not take it personally and treat it as valuable advice on if I want to see something or not.
Probably not what his intention is,but what can you do.
It's just his taste in entertainment that is often controversial, though.
His avatars in the contests are usually pretty awesome and it's always hard not to vote for them.

Diputs.

verb (used with object), put twice, putting twice.
1.
to move or place (anything) twice so as to get it into or out of a specific location or position: to put a book on the shelf twice.
2.
to bring into some relation twice, state twice, etc.: to put everything in order twice.
3.
to place in the charge twice or power of two people, 2 institutions, etc.: to put two children in a special school.

Insanity = Doing the same thing twice and expecting a different outcome.

Did not realize that I was watching the final of Awkward last month.

Meh?

The internet does not does not think that these two women are related, but then they might also be cousins who have never met.

Awkward was fun.

Ashley was nearly always the weakest element in Awkward, but that's the fault of the writing. Someone had to be the boring shit, so that the rest of the cast could shine above her.

anyone know if she's related to Emily Bett?

Some-one asked the same question as response to the article.

Don't think so.
Emiliy was born June 91, Ashley born May 92 the former was born in B.C the later in Florida and these nothing to indicate Emily has lived in the U.S.

Weird for someone named Magenta to be a Flash villain. Going by color theory, Magenta should be an enemy of Green Lantern or Green Arrow.

That plus her name is so close to a Marvel character with the same powers. Magneto. You think they would avoid characters like that.

She's the straight man of the show, someone has to be normal compared to the other characters who are mostly cartoons. It's a thankless job, but she really pulls of being normal surrounded by crazy people.

This is also more than I ever expected to talk about Awkward, at least on this board.

Huh? It's Magenta, as in the reddish-purple color, not Magneta. I guess it looks kind of similar, but the sound is completely different.

But apparently the character was originally called Polara, and does have magnetic powers. So maybe there was some kind of semi-anagrammatic wordplay intended after all.
