Spoilers The Flash - Season 2

That was an amazing two parter and definitely my favorite episodes of the season. I'm really into this show now.

This is a stupid question but I having this argument with my friend. I think the lighting made it appear that the prisoner was African American and thus I would assume it's Wally-2 with speed powers. But then you clearly see he has blonde hair at one point. Does anyone have a definitive opinion on his skin tone?

I'm convinced Zoom is Jay and that's what the prisoner was saying. Jay/Zoom is doing that vibrate to be in two places at once thing; Caitlin even hangs on a lantern on it at the end of the episode telling Jay you can't be in two places at once.

I can kinda understand what you are saying when they first showed him, but the other angles of the prisoner clearly show he is white with blonde hair.

As for this episode and the show in general, I think I'm finally ready to admit that this show is significantly better than Arrow. I love all of the craziness of it even though it's just about as ridiculous as Arrow. Plus Team Flash is much more enjoyable than just about anybody on Team Arrow.
 
The code does seem an odd choice in that its purpose was to allow communication between prisoners who couldn't see each other. Those transparent walls do allow for a lot more options.

New theory for flinging against the wall: Zoom is from a third Earth...call it Earth-3...possibly the Barry or Henry Allen of that Earth. Jay Garrick of Earth-2 is his prisoner, and the Jay that Team Flash has been dealing with is his Earth-3 counterpart, who's Zoom's crony (and possibly never had speed of his own in the first place).

I doubt they'll throw in a third Earth into the mix.

Besides, Supergirl lives on the third Earth, and she would kick Zoom's ass :p
 
I dont really understand why did The Man in the Iron Mask bother with the 5x5 code. Its not really given that everyone would even know about it. I didnt.

Obviously everyone could easily hear each other. And Barry and Wells' daughter could see everything.

So why couldnt they just start asking questions from the masked man? Have you been here for long time? Raise your left hand for yes, raise your right hand for no. And if this was more comedy oriented episode then maybe some charades? I want to see how he acts the Flash. Maybe pretend to run fast?

And in the time they decode the letters from tap-code they could just tell him to raise his hand when they say the correct letter. A, B, C.. etc. For "JAY" they only need to list him 36 letters and they get the word. Wouldnt take that long time.

Yeah, I thought it might be Wally, but then they showed the back of his head. I think his hands were just really dirty.

If they go multiple Earths (beyond 2) it really could be anybody so speculation becomes less fun.
 
The producers are not repeating themselves with their villains narratively. They already stated this clearly and unequivocally. Therefore, Zoom is not Jay because making him Jay would be a total rehash of the Eobard Thawne is Harrison Wells is the Reverse Flash situation from Season 1.

Making Zoom Henry Allen, Eddie, or Patty is not likely to happen either for the same reason, so E2 Wally is really the only option left.
 
Wally's an acquaintance. Zoom needs to be someone Barry and the audience know, but not someone to whom Barry has a significant connection or that he would call an ally/friend. Otherwise, you're repeating the same narrative note.

But why would he be a different race? Iris is the same race in both worlds, so as long as Wally is still her brother he would have to be too. If he's not her brother, and is just some guy who looks nothing like Wally, but just happens to have the same name, then there's really no point in even making him Wally.
 
Aren't we overlooking something? In the comics,
Zoom is Hunter Zolomon. And we've already been introduced to a Hunter Zolomon who looks like Jay.

We've seen no evidence of what race Zoom is. Are you confusing him with the guy in the iron mask?
 
I really think Zoom is someone who knows Barry-2 personally. So I'd go with Henry-2. I'm going to agree about the comments about the guy in the iron mask. There was always something off about Jay.

I am thinking Earth 3 will be for season 3... possibly giving Barry the idea to help form the Justice League (based on the newly discovered Crime Syndicate). possible team up with Green Arrow and/or Hawkgirl or Hawkman

As for why tapping... the mask must do something with his mouth, so he needs to do something. And why not to write it out -- obviously it's evidence that Zoom can see, and then put him in solitary, erasing all hope of further communication. So it works for me.... but next week is a fluff episode, so how long until we find out the truth?

Zoom is a native of Earth-2; this has already been repeatedly confirmed, at least visually and thematically if not explicitly through words.

Hunter Zolomon is a native of Earth-1.

Therefore, Hunter Zolomon is not Zoom.

Unless the Jay Garrick we've seen is actually Hunter Zolomon... and the real Jay actually looks like Henry Allen (which is what I hoped when John Wesley Schipp signed on).

we'll see if our minds are blown by season's end.

Unless there's another Hunter Zolomon. Or unless Jay was lying -- we only have his word that the doppelganger is named Hunter Zolomon.
