Spoilers The Flash - Season 2

A sneaked set photo taken late this past week currently making the rounds on Tumblr has definitively revealed the identity of the man in the iron mask.

In retrospect, I guess it was pretty obvious, really...

Hum it makes sense - although I'm surprised that they introduced THAT character.

They finally found something for Diggle's wife to do. Now she doesn't have to be a glorified extra.

And I didn't think we'd see King Shark again. I thought he was a one off, a nod to the comic book character. He seemed too "out there" and impractical to have a full episode devoted to him.

This is The Flash, nothing is too "out there", and its glorious. The days of a lot of comic book elements being considered too ridiculous for live action should have ended once we started getting superhero movies that actually paid even a little attention to the source material. I mean, there are limits obviously (probably don't need to see characters like Superman moving the moon with his bare hands, and really goofy powers like that), but flashy (pun not intended)/fantastical foes? The more the merrier.

We've had so many random thugs/mobsters/gangs/mad scientists/"realistic" villains being the primary episodic villains of superhero shows that its nice to see The Flash (and even Supergirl, to an extent) bring in villains you wouldn't have seen on TV 10 or 20 years ago, outside of cartoons (and maybe Smallville, although even then they tended to have the slightly more generic humanish villains, with a few exceptions).

^ Good enough CGI has certainly made that possible. That was one of my concerns, I'll admit.

And Zoom is unmasked!

Plus, how will Earth 1 Caitlin become Killer Frost?

Well, they went to all the trouble and expense of creating the digital model, so it makes sense they'd want to get more use out of it.

I love how terrible Berlanti characters are at keeping secrets. Wells tells Barry and Cisco not to tell the others about their doppelgangers, and less than 40 minutes later, they've both spilled everything. I'm surprised Barry didn't Flash out (Flash on? Flash up?) in front of Wally when King Shark attacked the house.

How fitting that King Shark got defeated by a Flashnado!

And were we seeing the beginning of the Flash Museum there with the display case?

Of course. I didn't think for a second it was Barry's dad or Barry-2.

I wasn't clear on how King Shark ended up in the custody of ARGUS in the first place. He should've been locked up in the Pipeline as a metavillain. Maybe it only served as a plot device to have Diggle and wife guest-star on the show.

Well at least we now know who zoom was. The King Shark thing really felt a lot smaller than I was expecting. The best parts of this episode was how Earth 2 changed Barry and Cisco. I'm really glad to see that Experiance will be with them for the rest of the season.

I loved the scene on the water though and Flash electrifying it. That was one of those really cool cgi moments.

Lila, who is now on par with the Smoking Man from X-Files or David Bowie, is either very smart to say nothing or very dumb not to notice the opportunity that is presenting itself.

America needs a defense against attacks from alternate Earths, or trade relation pacts with Alternate Earths or Customs and excises with Alternate Earths, or non aggression pacts or mutual defense treaties with Alternate Earths or exploration into Alternate Earths, or planning the invasions of many vital Alternate Earths or strip mining every dead or/and barren alternate Earth they can locate.

1. This should be, or theoretically always should have been ARGUS's job to control the passage of people and resources between alternate earths....

2. This will increase ARGUS' budget 1000 fold, if they're suddenly tasked with defending Earth 1 against extra dimensional armies.

3. Feeling entitled enough to plunder dead worlds, Argus can self fund a budget a million times what Congress is giving them.
