Spoilers The Flash - Season 2

I'm thinking the man in the iron mask is The Flash from the 90's t.v. show. Maybe he's trying to tell them \ warn them about Jay? When we saw the image of 90's Flash, we thought it was a nice little homage \ shout out to the original tv Flash, but what if it wasn't? I've heard it said that this show doesn't do Easter eggs, and that if you see something, it's for a reason.

They showed Hex, Supergirl and Grodd in the vortex, all of whom will be appearing in the Arrowverse or having Barry meet them, leaving only the Legion and 90's Flash.

By the way, Jesse and helmet-Jay not figuring out how to communicate for 5 months while they were there alone with each other makes no sense for the smartest person on two Earths even if the person she's stuck with is Jay, the dunce who stood too close to the vortex.

She was alone and scared and you have this scary guy who can kill you in an instant, or at least torture you. I understood her reactions and didn't have an issue with it.

Where do they go to the toilet?

After 5 months the only reason not to use feces as paint, is that Zoom would cut your hands off for telling tales to that quick girl.

Here's a fricking interesting notion...

If Harry is Thawne 2... Then Jessie is his legitimate daughter, depending on how old she is and when he arrived/got stuck in the past and stole the Harrison Wells identity, unless she was a future person too that came with him.

O.

That's another contender for the man in the Iron Mask.

The real Harrison Wells.

That rifle Harry carries around everywhere... Have we seem him fire it yet?

What sort of gun is that?

Completely agree that Iron Mask is the real Jay Garrick.

I think it's very plausible that fake Jay-2 had his features altered before coming to Earth-1. Remember when Caitlin wanted to find Jay-1 and use his healthy cells to cure Jay-2? Jay-2 said nope, it won't work, and Caitlin took him at his word. She would have discovered that Jay-1's cells were not a match. Jay-2 is genetically someone else. Perhaps the real Hunter Zolomon? Why drop that name in the first place if it wasn't going to come back later...

That seems to be a thing on all the Berlanti shows. They showed them bringing in food for the prisoners on The Flash, but all these shows show these small cells with no indication of how that problem is solved. At least the cells in Supergirl show somplace for them to sit/lie down.

Under a yellow sun, I don't think that Kryptonians have to poo or eat.

1. The body consumes food with one hundred percent efficiency. There is no waste.

2. Non super food (if such a thing exists) is too pathetic to register tot he kryptonian digestive tract. If every thing they eat under a yellow sun is still inside them, maybe compressed, when the yellow sun powers go away, they should die explosively.... Or if they can't digest food any more, they probably should purge everything they have eaten or drunk earlier, at the end of their day.

Super Bumelia.

However it plays out, now that there are indications that the man in the iron mask may be Jay, I don't think it's an accident that they went out of their way to introduce us to Hunter Zolomon, who oh just happens to be Jay's Earth-1 counterpart.

So what if when Zoom grabbed Jay he somehow dragged him to the past due to the vortex being all wibbly wobbly and the Jay with the mask is this Jay's future and what he was actually trying to tap is a warning to Barry to tell Jay not to stand so close to the vortex?

I'm so tempted to think that, as well, but it doesn't work. If Zoom travels to the past to lock future Jay in a cell, then Zoom would've already known the outcome of everything that happened in this episode and would've killed Killer Frost the instant he arrived, preventing anyone from making their escape.

If the man in the mask is Jay, he's either some other form of Jay (clone or whatnot) or he was perhaps thrown into the past by himself, without zoom.

Unless Zoom wanted everyone to escape.

But still, why exactly choose such a complicated and situational message as the very first thing you say when you know you can be interrupted at any moment? And why just give up when people don't understand what you mean after 1 word? It would seem more logical to me that the message was supposed to be Zoom's identity (that is the most important thing, after all - key to finding him, stopping him, etc), and the man got frustrated because Barry was thinking in completely the wrong direction.

Also, didn't someone in here say that the tapping in last week's episode was morse code for 'Zoom is'? Possibly more of an easter egg, considering this ep went out of its way to say he wasn't using Morse Code, but that would seem to point to the fact that the man in the mask is the key to Zoom's identity.

By the way, Jesse and helmet-Jay not figuring out how to communicate for 5 months while they were there alone with each other makes no sense for the smartest person on two Earths even if the person she's stuck with is Jay, the dunce who stood too close to the vortex.

Doesn't matter how smart you are if you just give up. She'd written his tapping off as totally meaningless.

Or she's a Nazi.

They claimed that POWs used this code for years without the NAZI's noticing.

If Harry is Thawne, then his biological daughter is therefore a Time Nazi.

It certainly was a horrible and stressful situation, that's why not even trying to connect with the only other person who's going through the same exact thing is that much weirder...

My speculation:
I think it's not Jay in the Iron Mask, I think he is Wally or Jay's sidekick. Zoom is some alter ego jekyll and hyde type character that Jay created when he was trying to increase his speed. Or sumin....

They could do the Malcolm Thawn/Barry Allen separated at birth story, with Jay and Hunter instead. The Jay on Earth 1 is actually Hunter-2, Jay-2's twin brother. Jay-1 died at birth.

You pick a corner! :D

Highly unlikely. Given that we saw part of his hairline and hair color, which looked remarkably similar to the assumed character, he also demonstrated the same level of dunderheadedness as him, too. Who the hell uses some obscure POW code instead of just drawing letters on the transparent walls, basic hand signals, or even just playing some flipping charades? Oh, well, only one character I can think of on the show is that stupid despite claims of supposedly being a brilliant scientist.

a) some-one who wants to greatly reduce the chance of what's being said being discovered (which is the point of code) and b) while it's obscure it's a lot easier to communicate than say morse code (which would be just as obscure). Charades is stupidly inefficient as it doesn't allow any subtly of communication.

And that played out how exactly?

And you ignore every other form of communication because Morse Code (which people have a significantly greater chance of knowing) is "harder" (which is bullshit, by the way) yet infinitely more likely to be recognized and known by others (ie, not even remotely as obscure). But yeah, great point you made there. Truly. "I'll use some random POW code that no one on the planet knows outside of a tiny handful of afficionados of the Vietnam War, and even then they'll probably have no idea what's going on. All to fool Zoom! Yes! This plan is perfect! Oh, but Barry'll know it cause Plot, so yay for that. Nevermind that it wasn't encoded, the chick was shouting out the letters, and Zoom overheard the whole thing anyway, but whatevs. Screw just drawing the letters on the cell and using hand signals and body language to get the point across a billion times faster and with far more certainty."

I do agree that using that code of all things was kind of weird. It would make a lot more sense to go for something a lot more common like Morse Code, but I guess they needed to come up with some kind of reason for Jessie not to be able to communicate with him until Barry showed up.
I had another idea about the man in the mask, Eddie Thawne. We didn't see any signs of him on Earth-2, but I can't think of any reason why he wouldn't exist there.
I was surprised we didn't learn who Zoom is here, but I guess there is a chance the Jay thing was a hint. He definitely isn't the same Jay as the one the other characters have been interacting since we saw both of them at the same time and they were on separate Earths, so I don't see how they could have been some kind of speed illusion.
Hmm, I just had an idea. What if Zoom is a future Jay who never got his speed back, and got obsessed with doing whatever it took to get it back?
I kept expecting something to happen to give Jessie speed powers, but she's still powerless .
