Umm, they seemed to explain the "manic urgency" pretty clearly ... Stein would die VERY soon if they didn't do something. As mentioned, Stein is her last remaining connection to Ronnie (by sharing bodies, they shared minds?).
And there were only two choices... Dead Mixer was right...He seemed like the obvious choice.
^Yes, yes, I understand perfectly that Stein's illness was the urgent situation. That is obvious. What I'm saying is that it seems odd to make Caitlin the one who's so desperate about that. It seems to me that it would make more sense to have Cisco be the one who's desperate to save Stein, and while Caitlin would intellectually recognize that that's the right thing to do, she would be emotionally conflicted because it would feel like replacing Ronnie. That would've been more in character. As I've already said, I'm not talking about the facts or the plot. I'm talking about emotional dynamics and character motivations.
If they'd just put in a few lines showing that Caitlin was conflicted, then the rest would've been fine. The problem isn't with what happened, the problem is with what was missing. The inner conflict Caitlin should've been feeling wasn't even mentioned. That is the problem.

Well she was right and they were wrong, so why waste precious time massaging their ego pretending that there was a chance that they were not idiots who were wrong? It's aggressively annoying how political she has to be with the feelings of morons so that they don't cry as they're revealed as morons at large, because it cut's into people like Caitlin's sleep. Seriously? All any of us have to do to get an extra hours sleep a night is act exactly like Doctor Gregory House, in the company of morons.

Surely celebrating the invention of Time Travel has to far outshadow the Palace of Westminster not blowing up... Actually it's kinda hinky how that all got rumbled.

It could also explain James obsession with the supernatural. I'm surprised nobody has done this as a Doctor Who episode.
With Jay's reluctance to let anyone take on Zoom, I thought of another possibility for Zoom's identity...the guy you'd never suspect...

They're certainly doing their best to make Wells look fishy. Caitlin hasa thing for Jay and Jay seems to be a coward, but he wouldn't be seen as hero if he was in fact a real coward. Patty looked nice and I loved Sisco's reactions to the date. And it did seem rather strange that Barry couldn't just run around Linda and knock her out.
Fighting Zoom is not a question of Bravery, it's a question of suicide.
Jay was running because he couldn't figure out how to win against Zoom.
If he could beat Zoom, then it wouldn't be bravery to fight him, it would be picking on Zoom.
Bravery only comes from uncertainty, and uncertainty is only because you don't get your shit together before you start a fight.

I thought so too.
As abrasive as he is, and he did expose Cisco as a meta, Earth-2 Wells is determined to work with the team to defeat Zoom (and free his daughter).
I was surprised to see Linda Park-2 as Dr. Light. I thought they might introduce Kimiyo Hoshi as a villain.
I liked the chemistry between Barry and Patty. They would make a nice couple. Looks like Caitlyn's got the hots for Jay Garrick, but he's too much of a wimp.
Cisco will get to date Hawkgirl.
I thought this episode was pretty good. I'm not too much of a fan of making more comic book heroes into villains on the show, but since it was an evil Earth 2 Linda Park, there still might be a good Earth 1 Doctor Light sometime. Earth 2 Wells is a dick, and I really don't think Jay is a coward, although he obviously has problems because of what Zoom did to him. I am glad that Wells exposed Cisco, though. I didn't think Cisco could hide his powers much longer without the excuses getting ridiculous. Now, I'm wondering if we'll see Cisco in a version of this costume by the end of the season
Well, the one with the scarf was stupid too, I just posted the first one that came up, although I've seen both of his costumes (at least the main ones, as far as I know). Still, either would be amazingly hilarious to see in live action, maybe as a gag (like a Halloween episode where Cisco wears one of those costumes or something). If he ever gets a costume, which I kind of doubt, it will probably be something more like the current New 52 version of the costume.
Tom Cavenagh instantly makes his show better. Loved earth 2 Harrison Wells and look forward to seeing more of him. As for the team being irrational towards wells, I thought that was the point. That face was the cause of so much pain and grief. I would be irrational too if I was in that position.
This was my favorite episode of the season. Barry and Pattys date was charming and the stuff with Iris keeps getting better. As for Jay, I really hope we haven't seen the last of him.
