Spoilers The Flash - Season 2

The time valut was built in the present with future knowledge using present day materials.

Thawn got stuck here by accident. And when he was stuck, all he had was him his suit and Gideon. So maybe before he started going ape shit he built a bunch of Time Vaults all over the planet in different eras to act as life rafts if he ever did get lost in time... Anticipating failure? That's not how super villains think, so I doubt it.

The Gidedon software, which he stole from Barry, or the police, or the JLA... Future Siri? The interface was so user friendly that it's possible that she is just a consumer product from the future and not hard core secret police tech, although Barry invents Gideon, and Thawn is from a couple hundred years up stream where there must be better tech? Unless 200 years later no ones gotten rid of the backdoor patch in Gideon 15.9 that Barry put into Gideon 1.0 to make it obedient to him and his friends no matter what?

The Earth-2 Dr. Light's powers were a part of her. The gloves Cisco made only mimicked them. and obviously not all of them.

For confirmation of this, remember she shed her costume, turned invisible and basically streaked out of Star Labs.

Doing just what Patti said might be possible - maybe they should listen to her next time :)

This was a great episode. Linda trying to master Dr. Light's powers was fun. It's a shame they shipped her off to Coast City, I would have loved to see her become a regular part of the team, especially if they let her keep the Dr. Light tech.
Poor Patty, she's now the only person close to Barry who doesn't know he's The Flash. I guess these kind of show need at least one person to keep it secret from.
Zoom is definitely creepy. The scene with him running around showing off Barry's unconcious body to everybody was intense. I kind of hope he keeps the suit on even once find out who he is. Tony Todd has a great villain voice, and I'd hate to lose it to soon.
Hmm, so Jessie Quick is Wells' daughter, I did not see that one coming. So I wonder if this means she'll somehow end up getting her own speed powers before the season is over?

I was waiting for Cisco to comment on the fact that she was naked as she escaped, but alas he never did.

I didn't see underwear in the pile of clothes. Heck, she may have had a tank top and shorts on under her costume, for all we know.

Logically, if she could make her undergarments invisible, then surely she could have made the rest of her clothes invisible too, so she would never have had to strip off in the first place. Pretty sure the implication was that she had to get completely starkers for it to work. No need to overthink it just because they didn't feel the need to show her knickers on the floor along with everything else.

^A fair point. And the fact that they never showed her after her escape does suggest that she wouldn't have been "decent."

You would think that if Zoom is Henry their would have been a reaction to his doppleganger son's face.

Onr theory is I wonder if Ollie dying and his Father surviving in Earth2 is also what happened to Barry. He died as a child and his Father went into a tailspin. Now he got speedster powers and wants to get fast enough to change the past (any means nec).

Of course Barry is slower than Zoom and travelled to the past. Perhaps Reverse Flash's initial time travel broke open the threshold so it is easier in Earth1.

1. Everybody is naked under their clothes.

2. It's about the journey not the destination. Boys enjoy the game of creating scenarios that create nudity, but after you get there to that point, it's just work, work, work.

Perhaps Zoom is Earth 2 Oliver? Maybe he did survive, or Wells retrieved his body, performed experiments on him?

That episode was pretty intense. The back breaking scene even made me cringe a little. Zoom is genuinely creepy which is good. I wonder if the reason he is so fast is because he absorbs the energy of speedsters? This would make part of the solution helping Jay get his powers back.

Linda will probably return after we meet Wally--she is his wife anyway. Sure he is a teenager now but Linda is not that much older and in a few years it won't make a difference.

I love the way that this show is not afraid to pull out all the stops early in the season. Not only does it make for pretty exciting television but it builds a sense of wondering how Berlanti is going to "top this episode".

As I was watching Barry get beat up by Zoom, I was thinking, "We need more teeth." I would've liked to see other speedsters like Barry combine their might to defeat Zoom. The only other speedster available was Jay, and he is currently depowered. Let's see Jessie Quick, Wally West, Max Mercury, and Bart Allen in future episodes.

^A fair point. And the fact that they never showed her after her escape does suggest that she wouldn't have been "decent."
Not to mention that a character who's only fully invisible when naked is a trope that goes back to H. G. Wells.

Admittedly, I was so focused on why the writers would've had Dr. Light leave her clothes behind -- "Oh, obviously that's a plot convenience so that Linda can impersonate Dr. Light later" -- that I didn't really think about what Dr. Light's own motivation for leaving her clothes behind would've been. An occupational hazard for a writer. From the latter perspective, it's pretty obvious that she must've needed to be nude to be invisible.

But I still want to know, what happened to her? She just, no pun intended, disappeared from the story after her escape. After the impersonation failed, even Linda and Iris apparently forgot that Linda was in danger from Dr. Light and needed protection -- and so, it seems, did the writers. That's a major loose end. Did she replace Linda when we weren't looking? Did she go back to Earth-2? Is she still hiding out in Central City?

I was anticipating a double switcheroo myself, but it apparently didn't happen. I suspect that it's no accident that she got away to come back with new clothes some other day.

On second thought, I take it back -- it's at least possible that she left her costume behind so that she could lay low and blend in as a civilian. I suppose that's probably what I was assuming in the back of my head.

I mean, sure, odds are they intended her to be naked, but I don't think that entirely makes sense given how Dr. Light's powers work. She doesn't turn her body transparent like Wells's Mr. Griffin. She manipulates light itself, and is able to project light away from her body. So there's no reason she shouldn't be able to surround herself with an illusion of invisibility even when fully clothed. That's probably why it didn't occur to me -- because it doesn't make sense for nudity to be a requirement for her invisibility. If they are assuming that, then it's an inconsistent conceit.

It works however it works, because [Ciscobabble]. If it was just a matter of wanting to change her clothes, she could have escaped the cell fully clothed and ditched them later when she had something else to put on.

Speaking of, I get the vibe that she's going to be figuring out Barry's secret all by herself.

I expected Dr. Light to come back and aid Barry. I did not expect Barry to get beaten like a drum.

So that was a 'nice' surprise.
