Spoilers The Flash - Season 2

You have to wonder how many jokes are being cracked on the set about the name "Vibe".

Dr. Light wasn't just naked, she was NEKKID. (Naked while up to no good.)

I really feel like Patty should have it figured out already. And that if Barry tells one more person, he may as well just go public with it all the way around. I mean, everyone he cares about is *already* known by anyone paying attention as having an association with The Flash, anyway!

Speaking of Patty, anyone else think she looks like the Hollywood cloning machine at work again - this time with DNA from Julia Roberts as the starter material?

Before Barry shared his secret with Linda, I was thinking about how bringing her to STAR Labs with the entire gang there was practically giving it away. If you know Barry and Iris, and you see Iris and her dad there, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to take a wild guess who the Flash is.

Especially when you factor in that Barry owns Star Labs. A fact I am sure wouldn't be hard for a reporter to find out.

Do they have comic books?

Maybe the concept of a secret identity is alien to these people.

To the public, they may think that the Flash is the Flash or the Flash is asleep.

Lex Luthor thought similar to this about Superman at one point.

Another great episode. The flash really is firing on all cylinders now. That scene at the end with Zoom and him dragging Flash around was really gripping.

...
I love the way that this show is not afraid to pull out all the stops early in the season. Not only does it make for pretty exciting television but it builds a sense of wondering how Berlanti is going to "top this episode".

Well, this was the sixth episode. If they put the winter-break, where they did it in the past with Arrow and Flash, we are only three episodes away from the midseason finale - already two thirds into the first "half"-season.

Another thing is Legends, for which the starting point must be reached in those three remaining episodes as well, so it might be, that the Zoom storyline is not revisited until the second "half" of the season.

His appearances including all the flashbacks certainly were greater last year than his single episode this year.... that we know of. I would think whomever was in Zoom's suit tonight is the actual actor who will be unmasked later. Why release an official picture were the eyes are so clear if its just a stunt man?

It was a set photo without the special effects added. The publicity department may have released it without the producers' okay. It wouldn't be the first time that the people in charge of publicity for a work of fiction have spoiled something that its creators wanted to keep secret.

I understand that. It just seems like a waste of John Wesley Shipp's talents if that was him in that episode. We do not hear his voice or his face expressions at all.

There was never an episode last season with the Reverse Flash where Tom Cavanagh did not show his face. The early brief appearances of RF where just special effects. When they actually built a suit Tom was in it. Even if his voice was distorted, it was his voice. Beyond the final unmasking scene we also saw him as Dr Wells in other scenes in the same episode.

If John Wesley Shipp was in the Zoom suit in this episode we are getting very little of it to know. It gives consistency to his physical performance for it to be him for the other actors to react to. But even than the characters do not recognize Zoom's voice because in universe its not one they know.

I am probably being way too complicated to make my point! LOL

Bottom Line - John Wesley Shipp is not David Prowse. Almost any bodybuilder could have worn Vader's suit. Even for the lightsaber fights in Empire and Jedi they did not use him but his stunt double Bob Anderson.

If Shipp is Zoom, and I am still convinced he is, I would assume soon he will be unmasked so the other characters can see who he is. Plus us the audience can see his actual performance. They would never go all season hiding his face expressions and voice.

As I was watching Barry get beat up by Zoom, I was thinking, "We need more teeth." I would've liked to see other speedsters like Barry combine their might to defeat Zoom. The only other speedster available was Jay, and he is currently depowered. Let's see Jessie Quick, Wally West, Max Mercury, and Bart Allen in future episodes.
We already got Jessie Quick the last 2 weeks, and they've set up Wally's appearance later in the season, which we already know is coming. I don't think we've heard about the other two yet, but they could always be saving them for later seasons.

He'd have no need to play up the irony, since his Earth 1 counterpart was never in a wheelchair, remember. ;)

Anyone else thinking that with Barry crippled, he might somehow wind up temporarily transferring his speed to Jay? (Or maybe Wally, if he shows up.)

^You mean, like, the Speed Force selects a more capable host? I'm not sure it's that sentient.

Besides, of course the paralysis is going to be temporary, with his accelerated healing fixing it within an episode or two. So he still has his speed; he just can't run.

There was a Speedster at one point who could absorb, transfer and imbue kinetic energy.

Wally was in a wheelchair in those Dead Earth Annuals from the early 90s. He took on the role of a gun fighter, using his speed to aim at his targets better, which does't make him a such a superior shootist because it's not like the bullets move faster, so what's really happening is that he's waiting relative weeks for each bullet to leave the chamber.

How fast can he crawl?

Scampering along with his arms, and his back half is supported by a gurney like what happens with two legged dogs.

If you're going along those lines, he could just turn the wheels of his wheelchair really fast.

I know it's furnished and shot differently, but does the layout of the West home remind anyone of the layout of the Bunker house?

I know we're all thinking it would make for greater emotional resonance if Zoom was actually somebody we know, but I wonder if there is the possibility that he's somebody we don't.

What if it actually is Hunter Zolomon--and his abilities are related to time manipulation rather than the speed force? This would explain why he is so much faster than Barry and was able to dodge the lightening, making him appear to be able to move faster than light. And what if his motivations relate to something Barry did in the past that he didn't realize? We already know that time travel is going to play into the story very soon.

There's be no point in hiding his identity so thoroughly if he wasn't somebody we'd recognize.

And he didn't dodge the lightning...he grabbed it and threw it back!
