Spoilers The Flash - Season 2

this version of Zoom looks very similar to The Black Flash. which is...well, i'll let you google it.

I'm guessing something to do with Blackest Night and the zombie Black Lanterns?

Nope, there is a bit of a connection but the Black Flash appeared years before the Blackest Night event. I don't think Zoom is supposed to be the Black Flash, but I'll just link to the Black Flash DC Wiki page:

http://dc.wikia.com/wiki/Black_Flash_(New_Earth)

instead of posting more about him.
i don't think they intend this Zoom to be the Black Flash either...just pointing out they look a bit similar.

if they really want to mess with people they could always introduce Cobalt Blue.

Zoom's motive according to Jay "He has to be the best."

Is Jay a moron?

I remember something where some (fictional) psycho was killing people alphabetically until he was the first person listed in the next edition of the phone book.

Are there any screencaps of the Flash comic cover homage? I've wasted too much data looking for something I thought would be easy to find.

I had this as my desktop for a couple months.

It might be of help.

No one (on this show) can run at the speed of light (670,616,629 mph).

Barry had trouble getting to mach 2 during the season ender last year (1522 mph).

I just assumed that Jay was a terrible scientist for saying that, or that he really is from a 1950s level of the present who hasn't figured out what the speed of light is yet.

(The speed of light was first measured successfully in 1676 by Olaus Roemer.)

Maybe Light is slower in Earth 2's Universe?

Yeah that line was odd if he meant his standard speed approached light speed which is contradicted in the same episode when he battles Zoom and they show them running at "standard" Flash speeds ( if he could run and act at light speed the fight would be over instantly).

Maybe he meant light speed when he starts to time travel as that indeed has something to do with speed but it's a short burst capability and not suited for everyday fighting.

I expect this season to be full of these small mistakes and scientific inaccuracies on top of mounds of technobabble to explain these breaches in science as soon as Barry starts to use time travel or whatever other powers he discovers. It's inevitable in superhero shows and movies yet fun to spot and dissect them (or otherwise SF message boards would lose half of their traffic).

Calling it - Zoom is evil Barry from E2. Uh, in case no one else has yet.

Speed is to inconsistent in this show anyway. Barry SHOULD be plenty fast enough to disarm Cap'n Cold, Heatwave, or anyone brandishing a weapon. But really, that's par for the course of ANY comic book, so why start?

Zoom is being played by Tony Todd, a 60-year old black man. Not exactly a Barry Allen doppelganger but hey, it's the multiverse.

No, he's being voiced by Tony Todd, specifically to conceal the identity of the actor who'll eventually play him unmasked. I think the producers have likened it to James Earl Jones as Darth Vader.

Really got to share this great deleted scene. Its from the season premiere. Barry visited his father early in the episode before he was released from prison.

I am disappointed they cut this. Its surprising to see it online already. I do not believe anything was released for season 1 before promotion for the DVDs.

Here's a thought - if Earth 2 Eddie Thawne becomes stranded on Earth 1, then does Eobard Thawne come back into existence? At that point there would again be a living Eddie to continue the blood line in Earth 1 history.

That is a terrific scene, but it's a little slow-paced, so I can see why they had to cut it.

Didn't the deleted scene explaining how Caitlin fed the inmates in the Pipeline get released the same week the episode aired, or something?

The deleted scene makes me curious how much the embargo encompasses.

If I lived in DC USA and wanted to get lost, it seems like Gotham would be the place to go.

Barry probably just namedropped Coast City as a stylistic choice by the writer. The question is whether or not the style is influenced by rules or guidelines.

Ollie's been to Coast City on Arrow. Think Barry might have popped by there last season, too, but I don't recall the circumstances.
