The Flash - Season 1

How is it "mercenary?" Tons of TV series write out cast members and bring in new ones, especially in these serialized times. And if Cavanaugh knew going in that he was only onboard for one year, that would've given him and his agent plenty of advance notice to line up other work. Indeed, sometimes actors are only interested in signing up for a finite term on a series -- Christopher Eccleston on Doctor Who, say.

It's also worth keeping in mind that they are setting him up as the big bad, and in a lot of these kinds of shows the big bad is usually only around for a season. Although, I guess now that I think about it Arrow has kept Malcolm Merlyn and Deathstroke around, so I guess that might not necessarily be the case here.

We have no proof that Barry became the Flash in 2020, just that the Flash disappears in a crisis event.

When Blonde Eobard is killing Wells and Tess Morgan, he explains to his victims that Wells is destined to build the accelerator in 2020, but Eobard can't be ####ed waiting till 2020, so takes matters into his own hands to see that the accelerator is built and deployed early, by 2015.

Without the accelerator in play in 2015, because no one built it yet, in a more original timeline, if Barry was still hit by lightning, it would just really, really hurt.

On the other hand, they dropped Colin Donnell after one season, and dropped Susanna Thompson after two seasons.

Producers are mercenary and actors are whores.

If he's told, sure. Everything is copacetic. If they don't tell Tom as they watch the guy sign into a a mortgage for a 16 million dollar beach house, then they're scum.

Christopher Eccleston is a perfect example because he was not told he was going to be asked to shove it. It has since then become public knowledge that David Tenant was chosen to be his replacement before Chris was picked a transitional Doctor. It was all rather sketchy.

Eccleston is bitter and angry, and given the right sort of hallpass, would burn Cardiff Studios to the ground.

Christopher Eccleston left on his own, the better example might've been Kevin Kilner on Earth: Final Conflict.

Io9 just did a piece talking about how many members of the Flash and Arrow casts are skilled singers, and a commenter suggested doing a musical crossover episode with Neil Patrick Harris reprising his Batman: The Brave and the Bold role of the Music Meister, the villain who can compel people to sing (and otherwise do his bidding). I say this needs to happen as soon as possible.

Outing Wells at this point will change the dynamic of the show, Wells had become something of a third father figure for Barry. But then losing Wells as a mentor might make Barry more resourceful. Although STAR labs will need a new owner, maybe they could get Tina McGee to return.

Stopping The Reverse Flash in the past so that Wells is never killed, would also bring Simon Stagg back into play.

That #### is a real #### who did, albeit ever so briefly, have plans to become the Flash's new daddy.

What does Star Labs actually do? Where is the money coming from?

Past glories?

Cisco accidentally gets the monthly electricity bill for Star Labs.

$15.00.

Less than four hours later Cisco is talking to Gideon about the 31st century technology keeping the lights on in his lab.

...

Why the #### don't the Police want to be armed with cold guns? Money from that might make a dent in the class action from every one still annoyed about the accelerator exploding.

...

Oh my. What if Cisco and Gideon start dating? Sure she's catfishing him something extreme, but he is entirely superficial about women and the sound of her voice is intoxicating.

In the comics Star Labs has divisions in cities all across the country, A West Coast Branch was shown in the 1990 series too.

But so far Wells' Star Labs in Central City appears to be the only one. Which does not seem to match with the episode of Arrow in which Caitlin and Cisco were introduced last year. They were visiting a Star Labs warehouse in Starling City. The two cities are hundreds of miles apart.

I thought Wells claimed to have invented the Roomba in one ep. I imagine he's created a number of inventions based on knowledge of the future.

Branches in at least four or five nations, if memory serves: USA, Canada, Japan, UK and France. Better continuity mavens than I will be able to nail down specific cities.

If I remember right, there was a Star Labs branch in Phoenix in the old Will Payton Starman comic. Rampage worked there.

Eobard Thawne is not trying to take over the world.

Commercially or otherwise.

Now while the real Harrison Wells would expand and invent, or head up farms of scientists dedicated towards the invention of many patentable new sciences and widgets, Eobard just wants to build the accelerator, origin the Flash, dose himself with speedforce and then go home.

It's been a long since I've read Crisis On Infinite Earths, but I thought the female Dr. Light work at Japan's STAR labs.
