The Flash - Season 1

I really forgot what deflowered meant.

It means exactly what it sounds like. Ollie snuck into the Lance house and stole all the floral arrangements. He didn't just deflower the girls, he deflowered the whole household. Then he went home and deflowered his sister and his mother. Quite the prankster is Oliver Queen.

Saw the full first episode tonight via ctv.ca. I see they did work up a map for the Central City region. Wondering if the cityscape shots were CGI...?

One thing i forgot to mention that I like about the new show is that they don't hold Barry back as much as the old show. In the 90s Flash, I remember seeing an episode where he almost died after running 200 miles or so one time, something about him needing to eat or his body not being able to handle the speed for so long. Here, Barry can run 600 miles to Starling City easily, which was cool. I mean, obviously you need to limit him in some ways, but I think the 90s show went too far, although budget might have had something to do with that.

Also, I liked the running effects, I thought they were done well. The tornado thing was especially cool, that's practically a Flash trademark, and it was awesome to see it in live action.
I don't know how slavishly the show will adhere to comics lore, or logic for that matter, but if they are going to do a time travel angle, you can't run that fast based just on biology. They are going to have to go with the Speed Force.

Flash and Zoom aren't just guys that can run fast, they are tapping into a unique energy. So they shouldn't need to eat for that. However the idea that Barry's body also heals super fast would require him to eat a lot so that the body has the protein etc. to rebuild tissue. So I could see him wearing down over a period of days if he isn't taking proper care to eat properly and take some rest breaks.

^Maybe shots of Vancouver enhanced by CGI, like how the titular city in Gotham is a CGI-enhanced New York City.

or they've done the same as in Arrow - GGI and shots of different cities around the world combined to make Starling City.

1x02...

Did Barry's accident also give him better mental abilities? I suppose that if you could speed up your attention (and make the noise in your head appear to slow down) you'd notice more detail.

So...supporting characters from Metamorpho? And...Multiplex...guess that's a name they won't be using on the show....If they did, people might expect him to answer the phone like this:

Well good episode all around and did not see that ending coming. Cisco was a tad annoying but I thought Det. West was very good this week and even Iris came across better. The opening of the show should be simpler as it was just too jumbled.

• When Iris was pouring that sugar, he had to have been moving a lot faster than 300+ mph, unless that was a "mind palace" moment.

• So, Multiplex eh? When he first appeared, I thought he was referred to as "Phantom Black" before I realized that they said Danton Black. His ability to divide must involve more than just cell division. Where does he get the extra mass? And how does each copy get clothes?

• It's a shame that they killed off Simon Stagg after just one episode. Think he'll be back? he's a big comic book character and it's William Sadler.

• What kind of relationship will Barry have with his real dad now?

• Ho long until Iris puts the pieces together? They seem to be moving pretty fast on that front just like on Arrow.

I didn't see it coming either. Figured that particular asset would be in play for longer.

So long as they don't play her to look like an idiot. That will be Annoying if it happens.

Shamrock he pulls the extra mass for bodies and clothes from the same dark matter source that gave him his power.

Fission vs fusion.

Firestorm vs. Multiplex.

I always though that that was cool.

okies,

Not Rip Hunter.

Chronos or the Time Trapper?

Both of them are from the distant future.

Wells could be Monarch?

But that means that he's an evil version of a hero only a decade younger alive in the present primed to go bad.

He could be the Monitor if we ignore the Time Travel clue in his name.

^ Wells is not a character from the comics.

At least not under that name...

I do find it hard to believe they'd kill off Simon Stagg, of all people, after just one episode. Anyway, William Sadler is a good casting choice for the role. It's rather more off-putting that they cast a black actor as Java, a character who in the comics is a Neanderthal. Even aside from the unfortunate (and presumably unintentional) racial implications, it's kind of backward, since Africans are the one human racial group that doesn't have Neanderthal DNA mixed in.

I hope the flashbacks aren't a constant thing. This show doesn't need them the way Arrow does.
