No Sasha Calle Supergirl

...and thanks to certain people, her planned DCEU solo film was cancelled, and that would be the only way i'd want to see a Calle Supergirl, not pasted into the DCU.

no Keaton team up with Batfleck.

I'm no fan of Keaton at all, but the contrast to Affleck's great Wayne/Batman would have been interesting.

People complained about the movies being too dark but that's what you need. There are two paths, one leading to dark and the other leading to silly. When you get rid of Snyder you're heading down the silly path where the movies no longer take themselves seriously.

That's not true. It's not a binary situation, only one option or the complete opposite.

I’m a big fan of Snyder’s DC films, and I’d have been interested to see his take on The Flash, but even I don’t think A) it would necessarily have done better at the box office, and B) I’m not sure it would have been “darker”. In his JL cut, Flash isn’t “dark” and “darker” is not something the Flash film needed in greater quantity. It would likely have included Cavill along with Calle, though, and I would have liked the film better for it.

This movie would have been better if Snyder directed it.

I have no doubt about that. It was his vision and story that set up the events in The Flash, and he knew how and where the character was headed in a way that naturally continued from the other DCEU he directed /co-wrote.

Not taking the material at all seriously is what led to the dire state of the genre in the 1990s.

...and we see examples of it in the Shazam movies, and a good number of films from that other superhero film franchise--none of it serving as strong adaptations of once serious stories.

Yet it's the most famous Flash storyline.
Doesn’t make it the best. It has some intriguing ideas but there’ve been numerous other storylines that I like more. I suspect many of them were discarded because they were Wally story lines (though most could easily work with Barry). I wouldn’t mind a version of the last pre-Crisis story (though that’d require an older Barry). Chained Lightning by Waid could be good. Anyway, guess we’ll see what happens under the new management. Cautious optimism is my default position.

I saw some youtube clips and now I want to see the movie again.

My biggest take away from the movie: Kara only weighs 80lbs? Damn Russians could have at least fed her.

Something about the suit really bothers me on an uncanny valley level. It's too shiny and doesn't bend or move right.
