The Flags of AU Earth

Do you think you can come up with one that is an American/Japan/England Commonwealth?

How's this for a first try?

I like it! :techman: Very different than anything I'd think up.

I also noticed that you use shading to good effect. It looks like it's not just black & white, but some yellow too? Gives your flags a nice aged look!

^

Thank you. Yeah, there is a bit of yellowing to give it an aged effect. What I do is after I make the flag in Illustrator, I take it into Photoshop and apply a 2 o' clock shadow lighting effect to it, at an angle which I think looks best. I like the effect it gives.

I'm glad you like the Japanese/English/American one.

These are great. I love what-if/alternate history. What software are you using to create them?

How about flags for empires that never crumbled - Ancient Greece or Bourbon France or the Incas today? Or an Austria-Hungary-like France & Spain had they won at Trafalgar? Or how about Uhura's United States of Africa?

Here are three more from Ace Combat...

I like them all! You have a good graphical style. I wonder what these would look like as cloth on a pole though. Real flags have plenty of triangles pointing away from the pole, cause it still looks good when it's draped. I wonder if having the triangles pointing down like this might seem awkward on a pole without a strong breeze.

Here are 2 more from Ace Combat, but they are from the same country, because both are fanon creations... the real flag is never shown in the game. So here are 2 versions of the flag of Wellow...

Thank you, Alex. Yeah, that's an interesting point about the triangles. IDK if it'd look awkward or not.

Okay... I'm not even sure if I'll use this, but I was just playing around, and came up with this as a possible flag for the Canadian Free Hold.

Well, the reason I used blue in the first concept was because Canada has both English and French cultures, and both England and France use red, white, and blue on their flags. But yeah... I'm still playing with ideas.

Being French Canadian brought up in a Bilingual Province I like the idea of an alternate earth that recognizes both primary cultures that went to make up Canada. Would be nice to have something in here that would recognize the North American indian culture also
Great work by the way on all your flags keep up the great work :bolian:

This isn't a flag, but I wanted to make a piece of very 1970's-looking wall art to hang up above my bed, so I whipped this up in Illustrator, and will print out in poster size...

You've got the basic colors right for the 1970s, but to really nail it, I'd go for an avocado green and make the tan more of a gold color.
