Spoilers The Falcon and Winter Soldier discussion

In the comics Isiah predates Steve Rogers.

He's the original Captain America.

They tested the formula on black people to make sure that it was safe to use on whites.

That could still be true?
They sort of retconned that. Now the experiment was to recreated the Super-Soldier formula and happened after Steve became Cap. Though I think the writers of Truth: Red, White and Black actually left the door open for that by placing the experiment in 1942, well after Steve became Cap in 1940.

Ok, I bowed out of Agents of Shield after a few seasons, but didn't they already do the whole secret Super soldier plotline using the serum/extremis?

Did you watch season 4? That’s a good season with Ghost Rider.

OK, bad guy probably is to strong. They are definitely portraying the Flag Smashers a bit more sympathetically than I expecte.
Is the redhead group the flag smashers? I got the impression that they broke off from it. She was getting angry text messages from someone.

I'm not saying you're wrong.

Cover date on Captain America 1 is March 1941, but The attack on Pearl Harbour was December 1941.

Why would the US entrenched in their isolationist policy be making Super Soldiers 2 years before the Japanese dragged them into the second World War?

Probably The Power Broker, who employed the group they escaped from, sacrificing a member.. In the comics the Power Broker gave Walker and Hoskin their powers

Unless they do some kind of flashback to it in this show, now that Isaiah Bradley has appeared I wonder if they'll do a Truth: Red, White & Black miniseries at some point.

And the issue was released in March of 1940. Simon and Kirby were not isolationists .
Wiki tells me the USA began moving away from isolationism in 1939 with the Neutrality Act of 1939.

Cover date doesn't mean release date.

And making the book takes months too.

The movies however, Steve tries to sign up several times and he's rejected, 4f, and then finally they send him off to project rebirth.

6 months after Pearl Harbour?

Even later until he's put out into the field.

Back to the comics...

Three different white dudes were Captain America in WWII, so an earlier start date would help that make sense.

So I was wrong about Isiah predating Steve, Sorry about that.

The only reason to wrap a spy in an American flag and drop him down in the middle of axis territory circa 1940, is to provoke a reaction.

Meh. If we have to have a Winter Soldier romance, I'd prefer it be someone like Leah the sushi girl. A nice, normal woman to ground Bucky outside of the spy/superhero life. Basically like Laura Barton. A counterpoint to all the crazy and traumatic in his life.

But honestly, his bromance with Sam is all the chemistry I need. They are the best married couple on TV, right now. :p

Well, with 'a very different' Sharon Carter entering the series soon, and her comic-book romance with Steve having crashed in the MCU just out of the starting gate (to say nothing of her now having to think of him as Uncle Steve!!!), she could theoretically instead end up Eowyn to Bucky's Faramir (and vice versa).

The MCU doesn’t do romances very well. Widow should have either hooked up with Cap or Bucky. Hulk made no sense

Hmmm, they did have elements of it in their centipede serum. That was Hydra related, so it fits in nice with this.
