News The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Updates

Without Tony Stark to bank roll the Avengers, they've had to resort to corporate sponsorships.

If they are filming in Atlanta, it’s a good thing they didn’t go with team Blue

...and they would lose the kind of development that made them work in the first place. The MC/TVU needs a past that is more grounded, just as in the comics, there were characters that were never going to have aliens or the wilder end of the supernatural as their regular adversaries.
Sure the past can stay grounded, but that doesn't mean the future can't go totally off the wall fuckin' bonkers.
Taking the characters out of the comfort zone would not destroy any of the development they've gotten, and could actually give them a lot of interesting new development as we see them having to deal with something different from what they usually deal with.
When a character usually deals with something with their guns or fists, suddenly throwing them into a situation where they have to deal with something that can't be solved with a gun or fist can give us some of their best stories, as we see them struggle to find a new type of solution.
And besides we already saw them as part of the big battles at the ends of Infinity War and Endgame, so it's not like they haven't encountered aliens and magic before.

The comics that had Captain America fight a mutated Ronald Reagan who had been turned into a Snake-Man?

Captain America, like Batman, works best in a more "real world" style setting with fantastic features added to it. Flying cars and mutated monsters but in a setting that seems like we can visit. Cosmic adventures with Cap and Batman are better left for when they are working with their teams.

..and some of those characters should have been killed in Endgame, particularly anyone who is not superpowered (especially when you consider how top level heroes such as Thor, Iron Man and Captain America--the latter even after using the hammer--all struggled and were pretty much losing to Thanos). The idea of non-superpowered characters facing off against threats capable of destroying worlds has always been a problem in comics, unless the writer was intelligent enough to write those limitations into the conflict. That has been incredibly rare.

It's comics, sometimes you just have to accept the crazy.
@TREK_GOD_1, I honestly don't understand how you can call yourself a comics or superhero fan when you seem to hate everything that actually makes them unique. Yeah, sometimes the stuff is just plain bad, but it's that ridiculous, crazy shit that makes comics and superheroes really stand out from other forms of media.

Was that when he became Nomad for the first time?
Yep. Also introduced the Serpent Squad and the 50's Cap plus it gave Peggy Carter a name and brought her into modern day stories. Oh and gave The Falcon his wings.

Oh, and to clarify one point on my other post, I was talking specifically about superhero comics, I'm fully aware there are other, more grounded genres.

"Captain America No More!" is considered one of the best Cap stories. So again, you don't know your comics.

It was garbage, then again, your experience with comics is rather limited, so I m not shocked that you are trying to sell that.

The best of all Cap stories were published between 1964 - 1975, when writers who really knew the character & made him one of the most compelling characters (playing into his status in one of America's darkest stretches of time) whether he was wearing a costume or not.

It was garbage,

Says you. It was essentially the inspiration for Reign of the Supermen, Knightfall and those other copycat plots. Executed better as well.

The story that introduced the Falcon was good. But Gruenwald was one of the best Cap writers. Super Patriot, Diamondback and Flag Smasher were good introductions to the Cap Mythos.
