The Expanse season 2

Me, I love being surprised, so spoilers just piss me off. Hell I stopped getting Starlog magazine in 1978 or 9 when it spoiled a main plot point of the as-yet-unreleased ST:TMP in a sidebar article.

I'd guess that when you read the book you weren't spoiled and it was nice not knowing what would happen.
Honestly, I'm becoming so good at predicting stories based on the tropes present, that it has been a long time since I've watched or read something and I couldn't figure out the ending, even without spoilers. Besides, when reading The Expanse novels, I was always more interested in the world they created than I was in the stories being told. Also, I actually have a condition where I need to know things. I actually open Christmas gifts when I get them rather than wait until Christmas, simply because not knowing something actually bothers me on a very primal level.

Obviously, I understand not everyone has my attitude towards spoilers, and I am willing to accommodate. But, I would also like it if when a spoiler does get posted, either intentionally or unintentionally everyone be chill about it rather than lynch the person and declare them a worse person than Hitler who already has their spot reserved in the Special Hell right next to the child molesters and people who talk in theatres.

Or, instead of going that far, perhaps we could just threadban people who post spoilers.

I get that some people need spoilers. But, some of us don't want them. I actually need to know other things. But, I'm fine being surprised, or at least not certain, in fiction because it's fiction. But, I do like that surprise, or again, at least the potential for it.

If you're good at predicting things, tell me the resolution to Game of Thrones, assuming you watch. Seriously, PM or spoiler code! At this point, I KNOW it's speculation so I'm won't know whether you're right or not until it airs (I haven't read the books).

No worries overall though. I just hope we can not step on each other toes. I think spoiler codes can keep us all happy. :)

After the 1st season aired I was in a bookstore looking at the scifi section when I saw a book with a title that interested me and I recognised the author but didn't know where from. Reading the blurb on the back I realised it was the latest in the expanse series and I spoiled whats happening with the proto molecule. I was really pissed off at myself for not realising what the book was and I'm frequently annoyed that I know where the story is heading. Thats generally how I feel about spoilers. I can handle little things like say where going to see Ganymede next season but in regards to the final scene of the razi last episode:

really there was no indication that there would be a fight, the monster could have left before they knew it was on board, the guy looking for his daughter could have tried to befriend or help it hoping it was her and yes they could have fought it.

I just think we should respect that some people like to be surprised and that not everyone is able to (or even interested in) guess where the plot is going.

Don't watch Game of Thrones or know anything about it.

Perhaps there was nothing in the episode itself to indicate these things, but they were in the trailer for this week's episode, and IMO anything in trailers can be discussed without spoiler code. If the information has been provided to the general public, it's not a spoiler.

Just use common sense, people. It's not that difficult.

Did what you a write about happen in an aired episode, or is it shown in a preview for the next episode. No need to spoiler tag.

Is it something that happens in the books, but may or may not happen in the show? Spoiler tag that sh*t!

And just because you enjoy spoilers, not everyone does, so be mindful about those that do not. People actually watch TV and movies for different reasons. Some do it for plot - and spoilers could ruin that - and others watch it for characters where spoilers matter much less. When traveling, some enjoy the journey more than the destination. And vice versa. There is no single right way to watch TV, so don't go out of your way to be a dick.

Great season finale, BTW. Stoked for season 3!

That was a good season finale. It didn't really feel like a big episode though. I guess the showrunners said they weren't trying to time the end of the books with the end of the season. So, the downside is that this episode didn't feel extra special. However, the upside is that if the 3rd season follows suit with the 2nd season, we'll have some bigger episodes in unexpected places.

I'm so glad that the show will be back next year. Looking forward to it!

Good episode. But I have no idea what happened on Venus at the end. Were those guys dead? They kinda looked like they weren't.

I liked how they Alien-ed that guy/thing/??? with the engines. Also appreciated the answer regarding whether it was May or not.

I liked this season finale. More or less ended where I expected. The protomolecule hybrid was well done, as was the Arboghast's descent.

Also, Adam Savage! That was fun, though it did take me out of the episode for a second.

Timed my re-read of Caliban's War with the episode. It's interesting where they re-arranged some events and where they lost some detail. I had been expecting them to just show the Arboghast blow up, but was treated to one of the coolest scenes in scifi tv history as it broke apart into its component pieces, just as in the book.

While there is nothing that sets us on the edge of our seats in the finale, there is a montage of several major plot threads that creates enough question and mystery to leave those who did not read the novel hungry for season 3.

The season as a whole cemented for me my controversial inclusion of The Expanse at the top of the best Sci-fi tv show list.

I have Abbadon's Gate ready as an audiobook to listen to as I haven't read it yet and it's convenient for me.

Here's to season 3 of the best scifi on TV.

Is it a worry that I looked at the design of corridors on Mao's ship and thought they wouldn't be out of place in Star Trek?

Well..there are only so many ways to design corridors..if they're going to make them look expensive, or well serviced they're probably going to look like Star Trek corridors.
